Ishiya Confectionery launches “Osatsu Maro” under new AGREETS brand featuring Hokkaido sweet potatoes

Ishiya Confectionery has launched sales of the first product under its new brand “AGREETS,” “Osatsu Maro,” starting October 1.

“AGREETS” is a new brand created at the suggestion of staff from Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Stores, with the aim of showcasing the appeal of confections that make use of Hokkaido, Japan’s agricultural produce. “Osatsu Maro” uses “Yukuri Imo” sweet potatoes grown in the towns of Kuriyama and Yuni in Hokkaido, Japan. A layer of Yukuri Imo paste is placed on marshmallow, then coated in white chocolate and finished with candied almonds. The Yukuri Imo are planted early, harvested late, and matured to increase their sugar content.

Sales begin at the “Autumn Great Hokkaido Products Fair” held at the Matsuzakaya Nagoya store from October 1 to 13, and the product will subsequently roll out at events nationwide in Japan. The price is 1,792 yen (tax included) for a box of 4 pieces.
