Costco Japan vs USA: FULL Food Court SHOWDOWN
Impossible. The food court at Costco Japan can’t be better than the one in the United States, can it? In this video, I’m at Costco Japan eating every single item on the menu to see how it stacks up against American classics to find out which one truly reigns supreme. And I know what you’re thinking. It’s just Costco. How different could it be? But trust me, some of these menu items will never be in the US. At the end of this video, I’ll tell you my absolute favorite bite of the day and the winner of this Costco showdown. It’s hot dog time. [Music] We have a mountain of food. The table is full. We got one of everything. And the only thing that we didn’t get is the cheese pizza because they don’t do it by the slice. And I don’t know why I didn’t ask. But everything else is here. We have some of the classics and a lot of really really like good new things. We’re gonna start digging right in. I got this pokey roll. This thing has some sort of like seasoning. You see some of the red chili flakes, onions, and tuna. Salmon. Salmon. It’s salmon on the inside. All right, let’s check this guy out. It’s nice and cold. [Music] I can’t believe they actually serve this at Costco. This is so freaking good. Just think of like a great sushi roll. Probably one of the best ones you’ve ever had. I guarantee you this sushi from Costco right here. This pokey roll is probably better. Like hands down, I’d rather eat this than most of the sushi I’ve already had in Japan, but also just about most of the United States. That’s I know that’s big words. I know it’s not making sense. [Music] Got to wash down some of our cantaloupe smoothie drink. [Music] You’re right. This is Oh, that is so good. It just really tastes like they took 10 cantalopes, blended it all up, reduced it down, and made this drink right here. Oh, it’s just such a strong hits you hits you like right in your palette. Goodness. Wakens up the taste buds. That is refreshing. Got our clam chowder. Why do they serve clam chowder at Costco in Tokyo, Japan? Let’s see. [Music] I think I think that child just tried this clam chowder cuz they weren’t happy. I don’t know. Nice clam chowder. Not too much of a seafood flavor. The soup’s kind of thin. Crackers. Let’s see how the crackers go with it. crackers are nice with it. I don’t know. I have chunks of clam, nice cubes of potato, but it just kind of falls flat. Yeah, I know. It’s all right. Now, the very famous, the very famous, the infamous, the muchbeloved bogi bake. I have seen these everywhere on social media. I’ve seen a lot of people just chowing down on these. This thing’s enormous. This is like a foot long sub at Subway, but in like stuffed bagogi form. Luckily, it’s not too sweet. I don’t know. This This is just okay, too. By all means, it tastes like bogi. And you taste the green onions. You take a little taste a little bit of sweetness. There’s a lot of meat in here, too. I mean, this is like a hefty hefty thing. I could smack you in the face with it with you and just knock you out. But, I don’t know. It just doesn’t taste that that great. It tastes okay. It tastes okay. Clam chowder’s okay. Goi bake. Okay, now we have our enormous box. I mean, this thing probably has what? 1 2 3 I think this thing has 20 chicken tenders in here. We’re going to go a nice little swim in this sauce. I’m assuming it’s ketchup. Let’s see. Ooh, it’s spicy. Like a spicy ketchup. Hey, that’s really good. I think this was like around 1,000 yen or so. For how much food you get, this is actually really good deal. I’m liking this ketchup, too. I know it sounds weird to be like really loving ketchup, but trust me, this ketchup is awesome. Heck yeah, I liking that. Okay, let me take a little cantaloupe smoothie break. Now, we got this really nice big slice pepperoni pizza. Now, the pepperoni is huge. I’m not too sure if it’s real pepperoni or if it’s like some sort of their version of pepperoni. Let’s see. [Music] That’s great. That is so delicious. I know it’s Costco pizza. I know it seems strange to just be this enthralled with pizza that is served at a discount retail store. It’s awesome. Okay. Now, what I’m curious about is a supreme one because we don’t have supreme pizza in Costco. Okay. Look at that sausage in the front. [Music] Guys, what is happening right now? What is this world? What did they do to us? Did I get to transported to a different dimension where Costco food is some of the best pizza you ever had in your life? This is it. [Music] This there’s crunch on the crust. Supreme is the way to go. Pepperoni is good. And I think this pepperoni puts our pepperoni Costco in the United States to shame. Supreme. I wish they’d bring it to America. I am telling you that would that would be a game changer. I think most families would come to Costco just for a slice of the supreme pizza. I’m just saying. The closest Costco Japan to Tokyo is about an hour outside of the city center by train. That’s how we got here. Would you come here just to try the food court? Let me know in the comments. Hot dog is last. Okay, we got the Hokkaido. Hokkaido cream soft serve. Now, Hokkaido is known for their creies, their dairy products. It tastes like if they made a butterflavored soft serve. That’s what that tastes like. It is so creamy, so beautifully decadent. I wonder how many calories are in this thing. Oh, you’re genius. My my wife just said, “Take a bite. Take a sip. Let’s go.” Ooh, we should just like pour that in there once we’re kind of done. Do a little food hack here. Okay, game over. Cookie time. Oo, this thing is still warm, too. So, when I open this up, cracked it. Still gooey on the inside. Still lots of chocolate. Melty. That’s what I just burped. Give myself a burnt break. Burp break. Okay, back to what I was saying. Cookie. Look at I can I can feel the crispy edges there. Let’s see. That is one of the best cookies. This is so delicious right now. Lots of chocolate chips, crunchy edges, soft middle, kind of like 3/4 baked. That’s like everything I love in a cookie, guys. You have lots of chocolate chips, you have crunchy edges, soft middle. Look at this flavor combo. Flavor combo time. It’s just not fair now. Okay, we’re almost to the end. We have the hot dog left. It’s almost not fair. I know I’m comparing them now. Everything’s been great, but let’s see if the hot dog can hit a home run for us to win it all. Let’s see. As the youngans would say, that’s one nice looking gizzy. I am down with the terms. I’m not that old. I’m that old. It’s okay. I actually didn’t know what Gizzy meant until my wife told me. Hot dog. Trying to find the right words. I’m actually a bit disappointed in the hot dog. It is not the same hot dog. The hot dog I just ate does not have a strong flavor. It does not have enough salt. It does not taste like a hot dog. It’s like I don’t know. It’s like if a if like a piece of pork meat tried to put on a hot dog costume and put this stuff on a bun. Like that’s kind of what it tastes like. It’s not It doesn’t taste like a hot dog. There’s not enough spices. It’s kind of like a flat flavor actually. The hot dog is just meh. It’s kind of like a bland mistake unfortunately. Oh, that was the last thing, too, guys. That I have to say was not a strong way to finish hot dog at Costco Japan. You have let me down. We just finished up our Costco right behind me. Food court challenge. Tried everything on the menu. So delicious. I was very surprised. And the things that we can’t get in the in the States is just mind-boggling. It’s so delicious and absolutely wonderful. But my favorite bite of the day, definitely the Hokkaido Cream Soft Surf. I am telling you, it is the best ice cream I think anyone could have ever had or make that comes out of a grocery store. I’m telling you, superb. Goes with everything really, really well. But if I had to pick a savory thing, Supreme Pizza all the way. Trust me, I’d rather eat that Supreme pizza than just about anywhere else in America that’s like a fast food chain. So perfect. Crispy, crunchy crust, beautiful toppings. The verdict. Which one do I think is better? Which one would I rather eat at? Costco in America or Costco Japan? Costco Japan, hands down. I cannot express to you enough how great everything was. And the truth is, we’re probably going to take the hour long train back here again before we leave just so we can hit the food court again. I mean, trust me, it’s that good. We’re going to do it again. The only let down, the biggest letdown was the hot dog, but I can overlook that because everything else was super delicious. Thank you so much for watching and I hope you take the train out here to Costco and try the food court for yourself during your next trip to Tokyo.
