Inside Japan’s Tokyo Micro Pig Cafe | mipig cafe Asakusa
Hi! We’re in Asakusa, Tokyo. Asakusa is known for classic Tokyo sights like Tokyo Skytree and Sensoji Temple. It’s a town where traditional charm meets modern attractions. Escaping through The Exit 8 — Asakusa Station… to visit a micro pig cafe. I’ve been to a micro pig cafe before, but it’s my first time here in Asakusa. It’s a two-minute walk from the station through a nostalgic shopping street. Oh, Spider-Man! So many places to eat and shop. The cafe is on Kannon Street, just off Shin-Nakamise Street. Here, here. It’s on the second floor of this building. Oh, I see some cute pink. This is Japan’s first micro pig cafe, “mipig cafe.” There’s no age limit, even babies can enter. Let’s check the fee. It’s 3,300 yen for 55 minutes. Walk-ins may be possible if it’s not full, but reservations are usually required online. We came right after the cafe opened today. It’s very clean and there’s no smell. First, we change our shoes for slippers. Shoes and bags go into lockers next to reception. The lockers have keys, so it feels safe. Wow! There are so many! Cute! Cute! Cute! Hello there. “Micro pig” refers to pigs that grow to 18–40 kg, not a specific breed. A wagging tail is adorable. Chewing air is adorable. Flopping down is adorable. Tasting the floor is adorable. Most of them are under one year old. But there are also some larger pigs with a strong presence. The cafe is one big open floor like this. This place was designed with a matsuri theme, which matches Asakusa perfectly. The Japanese umbrellas on the ceiling look beautiful. The pigs can move freely around the floor. But in the morning they gather by the window where it’s warm. If you stretch out your legs and use a blanket, something good might happen… The pigs climbed right on top of my legs! Dan-kun came over. He’s only two and already this big. The way he moves slowly is so cute. Dan-kun is also good at tricks. Pigs are said to be as smart as dogs. Their average body temperature is about 38 degrees Celsius. Warm, almost hot. Why are they so friendly?! Just sitting here, you’re soon surrounded by pigs. These three little black pigs always stick together, so cute. Micro pigs usually live 10 to 15 years. These babies are only a few months old. They pile up when they sleep. Doesn’t it get heavy? They chew a lot because their satiety center doesn’t work well. Chewing like gum helps distract them from hunger. (kawaii.) It’s ear-cleaning time with the staff. Mipig not only runs cafes but also farms and adoption programs. Since they’re loved by staff and visitors daily, they seem easy to keep as pets. I wonder what it’s like to have a pig at home. We also got to see the staff give a special massage. They can’t resist a good massage. The way they melt is funny and adorable. Watching their happy faces makes us feel relaxed too. Too cute. I was also taught how to massage by the staff. It’s harder to control the pressure than I thought. COMPLETE. They like it when you scratch quite firmly. All of them are so cute. Which pattern do you like? (No holding! I got special permission.) After graduating from the cafe, the pigs move to new families. Hope they find wonderful families. One kept sucking on my knee the whole time. Even stains feel precious. I’ll take them as souvenirs. Sadly, our time is up so we’re leaving. Grow up healthy, everyone! Asakusa also means monjayaki. We came to a restaurant called “Kamiya” near mipig cafe. Monjayaki is made by mixing flour, water, and toppings, then grilling on an iron plate. We chose a classic: spicy cod roe, cheese, and mochi(rice cake). Here you can choose to cook it yourself or have staff do it. For the first one, we asked the staff to cook. Monjayaki originated around the 18th century. At first it had no toppings and was a children’s snack. It became popular as a meal after World War II. It may be one of the worst-looking Japanese foods, but it’s seriously delicious. The best part is eating it piping hot. Next, seafood risotto monja. This time I’ll cook it myself. Mine turned out more watery and not as good as the staff’s, but that’s okay. Break down the walls and mix it all together. Didn’t really get the crispy bits, but that’s fine. Seafood risotto monja is a new flavor for us. It’s not common. Maybe the cheese is different. It has an Italian taste haha. For dessert we went to Denpoin Street. This is a sweets shop specializing in thick matcha. Thick matcha ice cream: 750 yen. It’s so rich. The strong aroma of matcha comes through, but it isn’t bitter. The panda decoration is cute. Maybe because Ueno zoo is nearby? I’m thirsty. Matcha beer?! That’s interesting. In the end, I chose iced matcha instead of beer. It used to be unbelievably crowded. Recently it feels like there are fewer tourists. If this video relaxed you, have a look at our other ones too. See you next time.

😍😍😘🥰🥰
Great sharing. I love it once again. Thanks ❤❤❤
Damm that's amazing
You took break last week, no video was uploaded 😊
They'd have to bring in new little pigs to replace the older pigs quite often, these animals grow big so fast.
Micro pigs do not exist. These guys will grow big and at that point they will be disposed of by the shop. Absolutely unacceptable that you would willingly promote something like this without any research. Disappointed.
You love cute animals in general, but you go wild for these pigs. Are pigs your favorite?
I've never been to an animal cafe, but I visited an opossum rescue once with a friend from New Zealand. I got to hold a tiny baby opossum who wrapped his tail around my finger! It was so sweet.
Adorable 🌸💖💓 pig 🐖🐖
what happens to the pigs once they grow big? 🙁
I just showed my wife a picture from this place and now you upload a video from
It! 😂 thank you for sharing
可愛い時期が存在するのは
理解出来るが、、、、、
結局ミニもマイクロも
育ってしまえば豚も豚、、、
すいません。
可愛いのは判りますが
やはり豚は家畜だと思います。
8:28 well done 😂
想起晚餐的滷肉飯 該死 – – 但真的可愛
Well that was different.
i really wish you would stop going to "animal cafes" because they all glorify animal abuse. these piglets are not "micro pigs" or anything like that. they are simply piglets, that will be rotated out the moment they get too big, and will likely just return to a processing farm to be used as livestock when they get big enough.
you might think life is at least better for them while they are in these cafes, but that is not the truth. these piglets are underfed severely, and the staff will even tell you "they don't know they aren't hungry!" as to why they foam at the mouth or try to chew on everything, but the truth is simply that they're underfed so that they will want to come to humans for treats. they are exploited for "cuteness" so that people will come pay the entrance fee to see them, nothing more. the piglets often fight with one another and nothing is done about aggression between the piglets.
"animal cafes" are not cute. they almost always incorrectly house the animals, do not provide the correct enrichment or facilities for the animals, do not allow the animals to escape humans or each other, and sometimes even house animals that should NOT be kept (look into OWL cafes and you'll learn all about the horrors Japan puts animals through) or animals that are kept awake during times of day when they should be sleeping, etc.
please stop going to "animal cafes" 🙁
These are baby pigs once they get bigger they will go to a farm and probably killed.
Due to animal protection laws, these „Cafés“ are not allowed here in Europe for most species. Fortunately.
Asian countries definitely don’t protect animals as much as here in the US and Europe unfortunately.
What happens to the older pigs that are taken out
I like your show.
Я люблю животных, но не до такой степени, что бы ходить в кафе с поросятами. Свиньи должны жить на ферме. С большим удовольствием я бы сходила в храм в конце видео. Мне больше нравятся ваши путешествия на природу.
🐖🐖🐇🐇Thanks for sharing!!! The pigs are so cute!!!😊😊
I never heard of a pig cafe before, but visiting a maid cafe is better!
Yeah sure those pigs might be cute, but that doesn't excuse that such Cafes are horrible for the animals. Exploiting their cuteness and then get most of the time get send straight to the meat industry or wherever. Heavily dislike this.
素晴らしいビデオ❤❤❤
The paradise of Obelix 🐖🐖🐖 😁
I would be dead from cuteness overload.
Curious about your policy. What if someone has to give up their pig? Do you help rehome them to make sure they don't just become food?
😍😍 super cute!
Cute.
So cute ❤❤
น่ารักนะ
So is so disgusting 🤢
Super very fun😅❤
