A popular national restaurant is bringing an all-you-can-eat Japanese BBQ experience to Walden Galleria — taking over a spot once filled by a local favorite.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — A new addition to Western New York’s dining scene is on the way, at Walden Galleria.

Gyuzo Japanese BBQ will to open a location at Walden Galleria by year’s end. The restaurant will move into the 9,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Santora’s Pizza Pub & Grill, across from The Cheesecake Factory and between Texas de Brazil and Aloha Krab.

The opening will add a modern yakiniku dining experience to the shopping center’s restaurant lineup.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Gyuzo Japanese BBQ to Walden Galleria,” Joel Cady, the general manager of Walden Galleria, said in a statement. “Their exceptional menu and interactive dining concept will be a fantastic addition to our already diverse mix of restaurants, offering our guests even more exciting options and a truly unique dining experience.”

Gyuzo Japanese BBQ is known for its premium meats, seafood, and interactive tabletop grilling. The all-you-can-eat menu features selections such as A5 Wagyu beef imported from Japan, short rib, ribeye, filet mignon, spicy pork belly, and lobster tempura.

Guests can also enjoy sushi, ramen, and desserts, including the restaurant’s signature Wasabi Churri sauce, which is a blend of wasabi and chimichurri for what the restaurant calls “a vibrant taste that elevates any dish.”

Santora’s had recently announced the end of an era at Walden Galleria with a video posted to social media and this message: “A warm thank you to everyone and anyone that has been a part of our last 5 years at the Galleria location. Lots of love, good times and tears. We will see you at Transit.”
