Trying ‘Jambo Mochi’ in Kagoshima, Japan ๐ฏ๐ต
Jambo mochi. Ah, okay. It’s called jambo mochi. Oh, it’s like this. Ah, it’s simple. Yes, it’s simple. I can try. No, it’s decoration. Can’t. Ah, okay. It’s like Yeah, it’s like Yeah, I understand. Okay. Yeah, it’s not not simple. Same size. Ah, same size everything. Ah, it’s presentation. Ah, okay. Yeah, with free tea. Six. Oh, six is with free tea. Free tea. Okay. Okay. Good. Okay. Okay, good. Go here. Oh, here. Yes. 500. 500 yen. Okay. Go. Okay. Let’s give these six hot mochis. Jumbo mochi. I think they’re small, but they’re called jumbo. Or was it jambo? I think it’s jambo. Maybe this is the cuz of the jam that’s over it. Should I taste that? Oh, it’s hot. It’s like a It’s like a toffee. It’s like a sweet toffee. M. That’s nice. Okay. It’s super chewy. It’s really chewy. It says that the jumbo mochi were a popular snack for the samurai when they were traveling out of the Satsuma demand outside of Kagoshima. It says there um they passed by Sang and End this area to pick up some to take on their journey. And they’d probably eat them cold then, but I got mine fresh, steamed, hot. They’re made of rice flour and they’re dipped in sweet soy miso. So, it’s soy miso and sugar. I guess that’s what I’m tasting. Yeah.
Jambo Mochi is a traditional Kagoshima street snack thatโs been loved by locals for centuries. Itโs made of soft, chewy rice cakes (mochi) grilled on bamboo skewers, and brushed with a sweet and savory sauce made from soy sauce, sugar, and a bit of rice vinegar.

I just love their imperial trays of the way they give some Jambo Mochis to you!! It looked like a lollipop because of the thin stick and everything!! Some of their soy sauces are pretty good though. Have fun digging in some interesting looking treats Dale!!! ๐ ๐ค๐ญ๐ฑ๐ก๐
