Crowds of people packed the venue of the 2025 World Expo in Osaka on Saturday, two days before its closing.
The 6-month event opened in April, with 158 countries and territories taking part.
More than 200,000 people per day have visited the Expo in recent weeks.
Nearly all admission slots were filled on Saturday, the first of a three-day weekend.
Long lines formed from morning in front of the event’s pavilions.
At the Indonesian pavilion, staff chanted instructions to music in an effort to make the long wait less frustrating.
One staff member expressed hope that the music and dance performance would leave visitors with fond memories.
A woman in her 50s from Osaka Prefecture said the waiting time seemed to pass quickly thanks to the performance. She added that she will miss the Expo and is determined to enjoy it to the very end.
The closing ceremony on Monday will include a flag handover to Saudi Arabia, the host of the Expo 2030 in Riyadh.
