Snow Beaches Really Exist? #otaru

[Music] Sunny beaches and coconut trees started to get a little old for me. So, I decided to make a change. I found some snowy beaches in northern Japan. And as I dug deeper, I started to see the same photo over and over. I wondered, is this beach even real? Or is this picture just a lie? I had to find out. I started my search in the island of Hokkaido, a place known for its beaches and sub-zero temperatures. When I say this place is cold, I mean -16°. I headed up to Mount Hakodate to see if I could find a snowy beach from the top. And just like that, I found a snowy beach. I head down, walk on the beach, and realized very quickly this is not the beach from the photo. I was discouraged, sad, possibly even depressed. So, I headed over to a bar. It was here that my luck would change. I met a man, celebrated his very first grandchild, and learned Yoichi is where I might find this beach. I was stoked. We celebrated even more. And then I made my way out to this mystical town of snowy beaches. Out in Uichi, this is a magical place. There’s almost no people here. This is a fishing village. And of course, I found a beach. This wasn’t it, but I’m not a quitter. So, I continued walking down the road, and here we are. All right, so I found one. Unfortunately, the snow is actually so thick that I can barely make it out without falling. You’re just going to have to live with these drone shots that I just took. [Music]
