  1. I was stationed in Okinawa from 75 – 77! Though I wasn't mature at the time (18 when I got there) I took things for granted. It took me 6 months to bring my wife over as we had gotten married the two weeks before I was to leave the states. Because I wasn't mature enough I didn't take in what I actually could have. Bought my first car over there. So we were able to drive around the whole island in the time we were there. Now, it's so built up for commercial tourist attraction. We were going to go back about 15 years ago but felt if we did, it just wouldn't be the same as it wasn't built up until the American government turned it back over to Japanese government. That's when it started changing. Of my 23 years in service that was the best tour of duty. I was in the Army Hospital that changed over to Navy Hospital. Left Okinawa in June of 77.

  2. My wife is from Paia Maui, go to the deep parts of Maui and you will be amazed, the seven sister falls, the road to Hana. You won't be disappointed.

  4. I would love to go to Okinawa my dad was stationed there in the early 1960s in the Air Force he married a lady named Eko and they were having a child and he was coming back to the states. He said he tried to bring her back but for whatever reason couldn't. So I might have a brother or sister that is a couple of years older than me.

  5. My uncle served there in WW2, my X served there during Vietnam. When there is no war, it sure looks beautiful! btw ~ Love the Song choice!
