There’s a new name and a new golf course for the PGA Tour’s annual visit to Japan.
The 2025 Baycurrent Classic, formerly the Zozo Championship, starts Thursday (Wednesday night for those of you in the U.S.) at Yokohama Country Club in Yokohama, Japan.
It’s a limited field event with 78 players with no cut, and there are some big names in the field.

Going stir crazy
Bud Cauley was asked what motivated him to come play in Japan this week and his answer was telling: “I was home for like a month and a half, got a little stir crazy, have to go play some golf,” he explained.
That decision appears to be a wise one because Cauley posted a bogey-free 4-under 67 in the opening round to share the early leader. Cauley, who is looking for his first PGA Tour title, made birdie at both of the par 5s and ranked second in SG: Tee to Green.
Different course, same result for Greyserman
Max Greyserman finished T-2 a year ago at the Tour’s lone tournament in Japan. The course is different this year but the Duke grad picked up right where he left off, shooting 4-under 67 on a windy day at Yokohama CC. Greyserman rode a hot putter to three birdies on the front nine and two more on the back. He gained close to three strokes on the green and took just 23 putts. Greyserman entered this week having missed the cut in five of his last six starts. But he’s off to a flying start and finished with an up-and-down from the sand for a par.
“Obviously could have always been better, but in those difficult conditions I’ll take that any day,” he said.
