I Tested ALL Singaporean Food at Osaka Expo (honest thoughts)
What Singaporean food can you eat at the
Osaka Expo and how does it taste like? Is it authentic or is there some kind of Japanese
twist? Today I’m attempting to try the entire menu. How is Singaporean cuisines offered at
foreign countries and what is a Singaporean expo like? Why is it so popular? Yes, it’s very
popular. My mom went to SG Pavilion three times. There must be something to it. Let’s check
it out before I melt. It’s 36°. Let’s go. Wow, this place is packed. I haven’t seen so
many jeep langs in one place. The structure of the expo is pretty interesting. So, right
now I’m walking below the Grand Ring. It’s a huge ring made out of wood and inside the rings
are all the pavilions from around the world. So, the Singapore pavilion should be not so difficult
to find. I heard you just look for a big red dot. Oh my god, I think I found it. I see a red
object. So, here it is. the Singapore pavilion. All right, I think it’s safe to say that
Singapore officially got promoted to Big Red dot from the little red dot because
I mean it’s huge. Before going inside, there’s one thing we have to eat, which
is the Mer Lion ice cream cart. All right, so this is the menu. Merly popsicle,
calamani. Oh, nice lchi mango. [Music] Very refreshing. So naturally, sweet. And
yeah, in fact, they do use real Nike tea. I’m looking at the ingredient list here.
This is the dream sphere. The exterior is made from thousands of recycled aluminum dream
discs with each representing a personal dream, and it invites you to be part of it.
Inside you journey through light, sound, and nature. All showing how a small nation dares
to dream big. It’s beautiful, creative, hopeful, and powerful. Just like Singapore itself. Oh my
god, that’s senior minister Lee Shin. He gave a speech highlighting how Japan and Singapore have
become important partners to each other. I even made him say this SC6. And a popular local band
53A even flew over from Singapore to perform live today. I felt so proud of Singapore. And it’s
funny because I’m only a PR, but over time, Singapore has become my home. When I first
came in 2019, I was anxious. New country, new culture, but the warmth of the people and the
rich diversity made me feel welcome. And that’s the beauty of Singapore, the diversity
and openness. I built my career here, started my family here, and somewhere along the
way, Singapore became home. The pavilion ends with a beautiful activity drawing your dream. I
do this. I hope for a lasting friendship between Japan and Singapore. And honestly, that’s why I
make content. I don’t know if it’s a big dream, but it’s mine to keep building a bridge between
the two places I care about most. We can certainly learn from each other, and I believe
that’s how we shape a better future together. All right, we are finally at Sh Cafe. This
is where you can have all the sh SG food. And check it out. There’s a long queue. It’s
packed as well. And the smell is amazing. So funny looking at cooking Singapore
food. There are two illustrations. Oh, it’s by Singaporean artist Yu Chong. All right,
so let’s check out the menu. There’s locka 1,800 yen. That’s about $15. Chicken rice 2,000
yen. Chicken sauté 990. Prawn noodles 2,300 yen. And multiA sugar 800 yen. Nice to see
so many iconic SG food. Nice chicken. [Music] All right. So, I got everything and it’s so
much that it doesn’t fit on my small table. Let’s start off from the kamasi drink. And I heard
what’s trending in Japan is that you see this kopi uncle. People will order kopi or t or whatever
and they’ll put it here and and take a photo like this. Ca. Cheers. Wow. That’s sour. That’s zesty.
Wow, that’s delicious. All right, let’s pack the fruit. Everything honestly looks amazing. Prawn
noodles. So, this is 2,300 yen. And I can already hear Singaporeans screaming. But hey, this is
Osaka Expo. This is kind of like the standard of the food prices here. The prawn aroma is even
stronger than most cra me I had in Singapore. No joking. And what’s interesting, they use Japanese
spinach. You’re starting out from soup. Wow. This is delicious. But honestly, tastes kind of
different from the original, the Singaporean one. I think the soup is pork based. Maybe that’s why.
All right, let’s start on the noodles. M. Super springy al dente. Oh, this is honestly delicious.
This will serve as a perfect introduction to Singaporean promi. You’ll definitely want to
visit Singapore and try the real authentic one. I don’t know. Okay, next up the locks of 1,800 yen, which is
about $15. I heard more Singaporeans screaming. Okay, let’s try it from the soup. M. This
is delicious. Very creamy, very coconuty, super authentic. And I’m quite surprised that they
kept the spiciness level quite local. It has some heat to it. We try the noodles. Once again, nailed
the noodles. Slightly localized. I feel like it’s creamier than the typical Singaporean laka. All
right, next up, this is the controversial menu. It’s a multi praa with sugar. I saw a lot of
comments online. People were screaming like, “What’s multi praa with sugar?” But then I myself
remember eating roti brasa with sugar. It’s like it’s it’s not like sprinkled like this one. It’s
infused in the roti. Let’s try. Cheers. It’s nice. It’s junky. It’s sweet crispy. However, I feel
like it can be chewier, softer inside. But again, as an introduction to roti, I think this does
the job. Chicken sauté. 990 yen. First of all, the presentation beautiful. It looks super
authentic. I love the char on the chicken. Got some raw vegetables as well. Okay,
I’ll try it without the peanut sauce. Oh, this tastes exactly the same. Very well marinated.
Okay, the peanut sauce. M. This tastes a bit different. Kind of tastes like honey. Okay,
I purposely left the best one. The food I’m most excited for last and it’s the chicken
rice. Let’s check it out. 3 2 1. All right, so this is the most popular menu here at Sh
Cafe and the price is 2,000 yen. Would you guys stop doing that? The ladies next to me
loved it. However, is it even nice for Jung Lang living in Shinjako? That’s the question. So,
we got coriander, chili, and black soy sauce. And the chicken is mostly bread. Mostly bread. And I
don’t see any skin on it. That’s a bit concerning, but it does look extremely tender.
I’ll start from the rice first. [Music] Wow. How do they do this? The rice is
extremely plump, moist, chewy. Wow. I am honestly very impressed at the quality of
this. For me, the definition of a great chicken rice rice is that you can eat it on its own.
I mean, you don’t even need the chicken. And that applies for this. All right, let’s try the
chicken. That is so tender and juicy. Finally, the chili. Put some over here. Itarakimos. Wow.
Super authentic. They did not make it less spicy, which most Singaporean restaurants in Japan
would do. But like if I’m a Singaporean living in Japan and I miss chicken rice, this is what
I will want. I’m honestly mind blown by all the food here. My favorite will be the pomi. I feel
like the base is kung ku ramen but with super strong prawn flavor. They really did a great
job here. You can see full of jun. They they love it. Yeah. You know, I love talking to uh
Osakan aunties because just like Singaporeans, they are brutally honest and they are so
friendly. And this is why as an Osakan, it’s so easy to integrate into Singaporean
society because we are quite similar. You know, we love cheap stuff. We love money. We like
talking. So many similarities and cool. They even have a souvenir shop. They named it the
Dream Boutique. Let’s see what they have. You’re immediately greeted with the national
character. Bought some Japanese things as well. Oh, I’m sure this is a bitter mering
plate. Super cute. Wow. Hot dog thing. Oh, what’s this? Oh, it’s a mang. So nice.
You know, we Japanese love souvenirs. So, I feel like they handpicked the best
souvenirs cuz everything looks super nice. W Singaporean lang. Can you say a Singapore lang?
Singapore. Yay. So, what do you guys think of the Singapore pavilion? I think it’s amazing. It’s
really breathtaking and phenomenal. You should come and see the expo. So, you came to Osaka
just to visit this. Yes. Yes. Yes. Oh, wow. This is important. We need to come and support. Yeah.
You waited how long? 45 minutes. 45 minutes. Wow. How was Japan’s Japan heat? Very, very hot. Very,
very hot. It is. Singapore not bad, right? after I severely underestimated the heat. I I didn’t think
it would be so hot. And I heard Singapore was the very first country to start the construction of
the pavilion. And when I heard that, I kept on giggling because very kiasu, you know. I love
it. This is Singapore. And of course, I’m also kiasu. So I rushed towards the cloud bar. [Music]
So here is the menu. Oh, we got tiger beer. Nice. and a lot of Singapore themed cocktails. And
I think this is a Singaporebased distillery. And you know, I also recently started selling
sake inspired by Singapore. We got gem biscuit, we got durian, we got dragon playground, even a
pineapple label. It’ll be so cool if I can find my sake at events like this. So, uh, if anyone
from STB watching this, please reach out. I give you a good rate. I just wanted to make sake fun
and relatable among Singaporeans. More info from the link in the video description box below.
[Music] Nice. All right, so Singapore Sling. The price is 1,700 yen. Cheers. Oh, wow. That’s
delicious. I just love Singapore Sling. You know, it’s sweet, but it got this complex deepness,
some bitterness. By the way, I was checking out the Google map rating of Singapore pavilion.
It’s 4.3. So many people loves it. And I feel so proud. You know, I feel like the government
did a great job, not just about the food, but conceptualization of the pavilion. And
I’ll be so happy and excited to see all these people over there Singapore someday. [Applause]
[Music] Okay. So, this is very exciting because we are celebrating. We’re having a national
day event here at the Singapore. I’m going to meet the ex prime minister of Singapore,
Lie. Very exciting. Quite nervous actually. [Music] Get ready on camera. I’m a YouTuber.
Can you please say SG60? SG60. Thank you so much. I have never been so nervous. Okay, so what’s even more exciting, there
are special Singaporean dishes served. This is We Lin. He has restaurants at Nikko
in Singapore. Yes. So he’s the one making the the pie tea. So I know I can trust bite very
popular stress. See a Japanese. He’s using I think sakura. Correct. Right. Sakura. Sakura. Right.
Japanese shrimp. Kiri. Oh kirshi. Noang here. Made by a Singapore lang using jipun
ingredients. That is so good. The Japanese p very sweet. Thank you. Super nice.
This one also by you. Yes. Everything. Oh, everything. Wow. Amazing invention. I don’t
know why nobody thought of this. Japanese sweets with kaya. Oh, this is magical. Sweet
and salty. I think even Dai will approve this. Honestly, that was super fun, but it
will be a waste if I just leave like this. I’m at the Osaka Expo.
Let’s explore more pavilions. Oh, really the energy and the crowd is
really unbelievable. But this might be one of my culture shocks. It’s
surprisingly quiet. I think I’m accustomed to the noise level in Singapore
where, you know, there’s so much energy, people talking. So, I’m having like a
reverse culture shock right now. [Music] Okay, I’m only exploring for about 5 minutes,
but this is really exciting. You know, all the countries have different architectures,
different theme, and it seems like it’s not only Singapore. Every country seems like
offering their local cuisine, which makes it very exciting. It’s like you’re traveling
the world, but you’re still in Osaka. [Music] All right, second pavilion. I chose Portugal.
Uh there’s no specific reason. The queue was short. Well, inside very immersive, very nice,
especially the aircon. Wow, this is China. So big. The China pavilion had beautiful digital
displays and even real artifacts. It was fairly popular too. Okay, besides Singapore,
there is another pavilion I wanted to check which is Malaysia because you know Singapore
and Malaysia, we are brothers, right? Oh, I think that’s it. The food menu is interesting.
Tropical mango coconut smoothie. Honestly, doesn’t sound so Malaysian, but they got
roti Chennai. What? 1,800 yen. Got migolin, nasi golen, nasi lemak, of course, and some
curries. All right, here we go. Malaysia. So, we are immediately greeted by hawkers. [Music] I
find it so interesting to observe how each country presents their own. Malaysia, I think their focus
is food and China was more like technology and history. Singapore dream and diversity. Food is
simple but works. You know, it’s quite popular. Oh my god. Did they find in a
professional roti praa master? I never imagined being able to see a
roti pole like that in Japan. Actually, I probably should not say roti praa
roti chai. Same same but different. [Music] I’m really melting. I feel like I’m
getting heat stroke. So, this is why I say the weather in Singapore is perfect. You
know, I mean, I I know it’s not perfect, but it’s much better than Japan’s summer. And
so many of you don’t believe me. You know, like whenever I say I love the weather in
Singapore, nobody believed me. But I think you will understand if you experienced
Japan summer before. It’s brutal. It’s brutal. Australia. Yes. [Music] It seems
like you can find animals hiding. Oh, found a koala. And now also Australia overall
they only focus on nature. Very simple and straightforward. I love it. And this is what they
have for their food. Crocodile roll. Interesting. I’m starting to get the hang of Osaka Expo.
The best way to travel is walking below this magnificent Grand Ring. This way we are always
sheltered. Wow, Spain looks beautiful. I really wish I had more time here. It’s a beautiful
place. And check out Usuzubistan. One of my favorite countries to travel. Beautiful. 100
minute wait for this. It’s one of the most beautiful and the food is amazing. Like I’ve never
had such a delicious variety of vegetables and the people are so friendly. And check it out.
We are back to the Singapore pavilion. And it feels like the queue is getting even longer.
Wow. Oh, cool. I can even go up the ring. I see the big red dot over there. You know, like
I really got quite emotional and I don’t know like I felt so much pride being a PR. I wanted to do
more than eating. You know, I love eating. So, I tend to, you know, make a lot of food related
content, but like it’s a waste if I don’t use my platform to connect or bridge Japan and Singapore
as a YouTuber. There’s so much more I can do. And so I decided to form a band. You know, I love
music. I used to play guitar. I mean, I still do, but my dream is to play at Esplanador, like a very
important national event like today’s. So yeah, I think I want to casually look for
band members. So hopefully I can have one or two Japun lang Japanese and
Singaporeans. So if you’re interested, uh, please drop me a DM on Instagram. But sorry,
PRs and citizens only. Yeah, I’m quite excited, you know, like because music is very powerful
and it can bridge and it can connect country’s people and it’ll be so cool if I can make like a
song about ein for example. So that is I hope you enjoyed this one. We started from checking out
the beautiful green sphere, eating a lot of nice Singaporean cuisines. Sorry to say this, but I was
surprised they are so authentic and delicious. And then I got to meet my idol for the first time. The
National Day celebration was amazing. It’s so cool being able to celebrate in my home country, Japan.
Let me know in the comments your thoughts. Uh, thank you so much for watching. Have
a good day, guys. and Zaria to bite.
I visited the Singapore Pavillion at Osaka World Expo and tried the entire menu. 🍶 Shop delicious & RARE SG Exclusive Sake from Japan at Sake Ichiba! https://linktr.ee/ghibojisan
How are Singaporean cuisines offered at a foreign country and what is the Singapore pavilion like? Why is it so popular? Let’s find out!
I’m forming a band! The objective is to promote the relationship of Singapore and Japan through music. If you want to join, send me a DM on Instagram or email. Looking for:
– Lead vocal (& guitarist)
– Bassist
– Drummer
– (maybe) Keyboard
It’d be so cool if we can do Japanese versions of classic SG songs (like “Home”) and of course creating original music.

万博は9月10日に行きました。シンガポール館は夜になって1時間並んで入りました。展示はとても良かったのですが、食事はさすがに高すぎかな。
With how much the Satay costs i can buy way more then just 2-3 stick, goddamn!!
WHO THE HACK PUTS SUGAR ON ROTI PRATA
Oh i wished they had ice cream sandwich instead of just popsicle
The uncle at 9:00 hahaha
Singaporeans are screaming at the prices
Same, being a SPR for so many year everytime i hear/see SG is doing well feel like a sense of pride also. Haha… maybe is my love for the underdog story.
The portion is unforgivable..
omg there s188 pavilions at Expo 2025 Osak
Actually the price is ok if it was a proper portion. This one looked like sample size sia
I only found this guy because he visited my hometown Yew Tee
Roti prata with sugar use to be a staple at our coffeshops. Tables will have a bottle of sugar dispenser if you want to add some sugar on the plate. Unfortunately, this practice has faded out over the years. You can still find them at various prata shops in Malaysia or bring your own sugar i guess😂
Looks awesome, but still not going to Japan in summer. The Expo ends Oct 13, still got chance to go.
2:15 bro 53a came to my school to do a performence
This was an advert. Even the yelling sounded like a chicken crowing

the chicken rice doesn't look the least bit appetising at all so what a surprise it's good!!
Honestly though….any singaporean that has never eaten roti prata with sugar before….you guys not true singaporean man….
A true singaporean would have definitely eaten roti prata with sugar before and even mixed sugar with curry and eat it. Taste like heaven.
