The 195-room hotel includes 29 suites, of which 14 are maisonette-style suites equipped with kitchens and separate living and sleeping areas, catering to extended stays and family travel.

Facilities include a traditional Japanese communal bath, sauna, and a top-floor fitness centre offering city views.

The hotel’s renovation project introduces updated interiors and design elements consistent with the brand’s current global standards.

Guests have access to a café and bar within the lobby area, and a second-floor restaurant offering breakfast buffet with a mix of Japanese and international dishes.

Under the Holiday Inn brand’s policy, children aged 12 and below can stay and dine at no additional cost.

The property features the brand’s open-plan lobby design, created to provide flexible spaces for work, leisure, or social interaction.

Sapporo, the largest city in Hokkaido, attracts visitors with its dining options, local seafood, and frequent festivals, including the Sapporo Snow Festival in the winter.

The region has reported a 40% rise in international visitors in 2024 compared to 2019, reflecting ongoing growth in tourism, stated IHG.

The new hotel aims to accommodate demand from both overseas and domestic guests.

To mark the launch, the hotel is offering an extended 26 hours stay promotion for IHG One Rewards members, with complimentary drinks and limited-edition amenities.

The Sapporo opening adds to Holiday Inn’s expanding presence in Japan, following the launch of ANA Holiday Inn Resort Karuizawa.

Holiday Inn & Suites Sapporo Odori Park will become part of the global Holiday Inn network, joining over 1,200 hotels and resorts worldwide and adding to the brand’s eight locations in Japan.

IHG Hotels & Resorts, recently, entered into a partnership with ALVA Capital to bring the Candlewood Suites brand, which focuses on midscale extended stays, to Iceland for the first time.
