Performances each day from 14:00
Kyoto Theater

Twenty years have passed since the 2004 Japanese premiere of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Hiroshi Mikami, a member of the original cast of the Japanese premiere of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” will perform a live version of “Angry Inch.

The musical “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” which premiered off-Broadway in 1997, was so well received that it ran for two years, winning numerous awards. In 2014, a revival of the play opened on Broadway and garnered much attention, winning four Tony Awards.

This year’s performance will take the form of a live stage performance by the rock band Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Hedwig, who underwent a sex change operation to gain love and freedom but was left with an Angry Inch due to a surgical error, sang a number of classic songs including “Origin of Love,” “Angry Inch,” and “Midnight Radio,” while intensely and sadly reciting her own personal history and feelings alone to the audience. Hedwig sings a number of classic songs such as “Origin of Love,” “Angry Inch,” “Midnight Radio,” and many more.

Hiroshi Mikami said, “It has been 20 years since then. Now I am thinking hard about what kind of live show I can make to please everyone. Fortunately, the musicians and staff are almost the same as they were 20 years ago. We will deliver a live performance with our best efforts. Please enjoy the show.

Don’t miss this chance to see the charming, powerful, and sexy Hiroshi Mikami perform on stage again!
