B2B travel and hospitality events specialist Connections has hosted 130 industry leaders for its inaugural Connections Luxury Asia Pacific event in Tokyo.

The event, which brought together international suppliers and buyers from the region across business meetings and authentic local experiences, was held in partnership with Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau from October 5-8.

Delegates experienced some of Tokyo’s most iconic venues, including a welcome reception at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu, business meetings and immersive activities hosted at JW Marriott Tokyo and networking dinners at Fairmont Tokyo and Happo-en.

Connections forms part of the portfolio of Travel Weekly parent Jacobs Media.

In addition to the CVB, event partners included The Capitol Hotel Tokyu, Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, JW Marriott Tokyo, Fairmont Tokyo, Happo-en Tokyo, CRIL Privée & Cie., Clia, Flywire, Marriott International, XO Private, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Small Luxury Hotels of the World and Maison Kissako.

Guests took part in local experiences that reflected Japan’s cultural richness and craftsmanship – from sumo, kimono dressing, geisha encounters, calligraphy and kumiko woodworking to whisky tasting, sushi and spring roll making, and chocolate appreciation.

Experience partners included JW Marriott Tokyo, Flywire, Manchester City Football Club and Maison Kissako.

Gregory Reeves, Connections managing director, said: “Hosting our first Connections Luxury Asia Pacific in Tokyo has been a truly special moment.

“The warmth of our partners and the enthusiasm from the region’s luxury travel community have been inspiring. This gathering has set the tone for a thriving future of collaboration and deeper connections across the Asia Pacific region.”

The 2026 edition of Connections Luxury Asia Pacific will take place in Osaka, in partnership with the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau, from October 4-7.

Reeves added: “We’re thrilled to bring Connections Luxury Asia Pacific to Osaka next year.

“Our mission is to connect people through shared experiences and cultural understanding, and Osaka, with its vibrant energy and culinary excellence, will provide the perfect setting for our community to continue building trusted partnerships.”
