All fun and games: The four-day Tokyo Game Show, one of the world’s largest game events, kicked off Sept. 25 at Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba City. A record 1,136 companies and organizations from Japan and abroad participated to showcase their new game consoles and software products and 250,000 visitors were expected to attend. Among major Japanese companies, Sega Corp. and its subsidiary Atlus Co. exhibited their latest racing game, released Sept. 25, featuring the globally popular character “Sonic.” Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. set up a photo spot at its booth where visitors could immerse themselves in the world of new games, including “Digimon.” Visitors perused the exhibits.
