How We Made Chiba A Little Less Boring
All right, ladies and gentlemen. Today I Nico am looking at a Pocari sweat swimming pool. I mean, that one is incredible. But no, I’m right now in a Tokyo Bay Makohari. Um, it’s already in Chiba Prefecture, and that’s effectively what this video is about, Chiba. So, the motivation is as follows. I have not visited every prefecture in Japan and I want to. So now Tatsu and I, Tatsu is my wife, have decided that we want to make a kind of round tour through the lesser visited Kanto prefixures, Chiba, Ibaraki, Gulma, and Toigi. And today is Chiba. Yeah. So we are at an Apple hotel here in Makohari. It’s pretty cool. Um, it was pretty cheap because it’s an hour away from Tokyo train. So, yeah, I have my life goal of visiting every single prefixure of Japan and making a video about it. And I also wanted to kind of promote the lesserknown regions in Japan a little bit because I know what it’s like to live in an area that is overburdened by tourism. And tourism is great and all as long as it’s reasonable. So, what my kind of goal is with these series of videos is to kind of encourage you to visit those lesserknown places as well and don’t just all uh fill up the already overfilled trains of Tokyo in Kyoto. My arm is getting heavy. And the reality is my best trips in Japan were never to the touristy places. It was always when I went off the beaten path is when I got the best experiences out of that. I don’t know why that is, but we’ll see in this video. Anyways, my name is Nico and I love Japan. Yeah. Sweat. Amazing. [Music] So, Tatooy desperately wanted to go to a cheap Disneyland. And unfortunately, I owed her one. You see, the day before this one, I was able to ditch her and our daughter to hang out with my boyfriend Nathan to check out the Tokyo Montreal and all of its crazy stops. She of course demanded I take her to Disneyland the day after and to take a bunch of pictures of her. I was of course thrilled. Yay. [Music] Don’t insult us. Einstein. [Music] [Music] [Music] Eat it. for [Music] DJ. day. [Applause] [Applause] Time [Applause] Come on. Check. [Music] [Applause] [Applause] What? No, [Applause] [Applause] you. Nice. [Music] Now that we’re done with our little trip into Disneyland, it’s time to get a real taste of Chiba. Over [Music] papa. Our goal for today is Abico, a city considered to be one of the outskirts of Tokyo. Around 130,000 people live there and tend to commute to Tokyo or Chiba City for work. It seems to be a nice place to live if you want to avoid the business and the hecticness of the bigger cities. For us, we wanted to check out a flower garden that was said to be there and meet two of Tatsu’s friends for a picnic. Oh, yeah. Man, there are some really pretty houses right around here. It’s so cool. I love it. The Japanese countryside. It’s not really a super countryside. My god, it it literally smells like negi spring onions in here. That’s amazing, man. It’s cool to just go to these kind of places. You see so many nice things, right? Like there’s some other sort of farms here. So cool. So all right, so traveling with a kid is so exhausting. Not only do we have to lump the luggage around, right, we also have to take care of the kid. She is such a handful. 2 years old is such a horrible age because she doesn’t understand that she needs to wait a little bit yet. But she also can’t be controlled so well anymore. She wants to get out and fight and do whatever she likes. Yeah. And that is really really tiring actually. But yeah, this is what we need to that is what we must do when we visit want to visit Japan at this time and age. Right. If I’m addicted to Japan that I need it every single year, well, then I have to just uh power through this, right? Hopefully, there will be an age where she is much more receptive to our constructive criticism as uh parents, right? Well, we’ll see. But yeah, we are in this kind of botanical garden right now. Yeah, we actually met up with a friend here, my wife’s friend that lives in Yamanashi Prefecture. Really, really lovely person. brought her some omiyak and we’re going to enjoy this together. Maybe [Music] [Music] Kat’s amazing friends brought along some some ben some bento and uh Now we’re eating it. It’s amazing. [Music] [Music] Yeah, delicious. That’s a good thing about Japan. Even the simple food is delicious. That’s just what I love about this country. [Music] On the new. [Music] [Laughter] NHK terino reaction. [Music] So these are actually the exact same food cuts that you see at the big events like Hatsumod for example. I actually always wondered where did these uh where did these food cuts go when there isn’t like a big event and usually they just hang out at parks like this [Music] no but genuinely food trucks is such a great idea. How else would I be getting my iced coffee and my crap? Amazing. Okay, this is so delicious. Right. [Music] I genuinely do not understand how the food in Japan is so good. I am genuinely enjoying this so much. It’s absolutely madness. But it is. Yeah. How How is it that I a eat a really amazing crap at a food cart in some random park, right? And it’s way better than anything I get in Europe. I don’t understand that. But it’s it’s just so light, so fluffy, and it it’s not overly sweet. It’s just nice. Crazy. I just like it here. I really like it here. If just for the food, I like it here. Crazy. [Music] Patu, we finally arrived in Poland. Oh, Holland. So cute. It’s a nice place. Dream come true. A I mean, it actually smells really, really nice here. Flowers smell really good. It’s lovely. It’s great. What is actually super interesting here is that there are literally no white people, Europeans or Americans here. It’s Japanese people and various types of other Asians, Indians, Filipinos. Um, that’s interesting because I mean this thing is kind of a lot more European looking here, something more common in Western culture than um other places. So, I’m guessing because of that, this is much more interesting to people of Asian descent than those of European. [Music] Delicious. I mean, it smells nice, man. Those willow trees over there amazing in the wind. It looks so beautiful. [Music] Yeah, I like this place. Well, anything else to add? Nothing. It’s nice that our daughter can run around a little bit and eat all the flowers. I’m exhausted. But I like this. [Music] But yeah, this is stunning. Absolutely. All right, let’s go to the next thing. [Music] [Music] Okay, so that was actually a really really cool looking temple. We don’t have that much time right now, but it was really, really cool looking. And if we had more time, I’d definitely go and check it out. [Music] Oh, Kawai Kawai [Music] So, we wanted to check out another spot around here and found a cozy little spot at the shore of Tega Numa Lake. It’s close to Abiga station, which is convenient since we’ll be heading north to very soon. So, we just headed to Tegonuma Park. This place is situated inside of Abica City. That’s also where this tul tulip garden officially is in. And there is a really nice lake over here that is really really pretty. And what I just spotted is this here. This thing here behind me is a peace memorial um related to the Hiroshima atomic bomb bombings. Right. And it was quite emotional what it has written down. It’s something that many people forget that Japan is the only country that has experienced an actual kind of targeted bombing of an atomic bomb. And um the reason the purpose of this memorial is to kind of just show off just show that hey we experienced this. This is not good. We should not let this happen ever again. And um they displayed a piece of stone that originally belonged to the city hall of Hiroshima right here. It’s interesting how you go to a place like this. It’s actually quite far from Hiroshima here. But you go to a place like this and you still get a reminder of what has happened back then. And I think this just symbolizes the sorrow Japanese people feel for what has happened on that day, right? How do you feel? I like it. [Music] Me, too. You like me? Yeah. Yes, I know. [Music] This looks incredible here. Yeah, we’ve assembled the entire crew now. We’re going to say bye-bye in a second to them. They’re really, really, really lovely. Tatsoy, I always feel like good people choose good people to be friends. And I know my wife is amazing. And my wife’s friends are simply amazing. And that is just so cool that they kind of luried us around, showed us amazing places, and I constantly have to fight them to pay for the food, right? They’re great people and I’m very lucky to have married a wife that has such great friends and I’m so happy for them that they have their own baby now. Man, this sunset genuinely is beautiful. And for me, I didn’t really see a lot of cha. But the thing is, I got a little bit of a taste of Chiba. And the cool thing is I actually want more of it now. There is so much more to do. We barely touched, you know, we barely entered the prefecture at all. There is so much more to do and so much more to see. And I don’t have the chance to immediately. And that is Japan for me. I just feel good being here. I love it here. Genuinely, the sunset is why. Well, the sunset and a bunch of other stuff like feminine m fried chicken. Yeah, because of views like this, I am just happy to be now. That is amazing. I just love to be and that’s it.
I have a dream, and that dream is to one day manage to visit every single prefecture of Japan and make a video about them! And then I have another dream. You could call that second dream a mission instead. I want to promote tourism in Japan to the more lesser-known places, because I don’t want to contribute to over-tourism to the hot spots of Japan. As such, we explore Chiba Prefecture today where we first go to Disneyland because my wife wanted to. But then we went to a small place called Abiko, considered to be an outskirt of Tokyo. There, we have a picnic at a lovely flower garden. At the end of the day, we enjoy the sunset over Teganuma Lake, which made me feel very strongly about my love for Japan.

1 Second online and I am already here
Hi again!
Is there a particular reason you don’t want to show your daughters face? Or are waiting until she is old enough. Generally, if kids see their parents doing something they want to be part of it. Just curious.
I did not skip 😂
I'm in Chiba right now, in Urayasu.
Love it!
I think I've only seen 1-2 foreigners in a whole week so far!
This is what I wanted to experience, the real side of Japan. Far away from the typical tourist places.
you mean the boat doesn't exist?
