幻想的なアート水族館!舞台美術とデジタルアートが融合する光と水の世界に行ってみた!:『アトア atoa:兵庫』

Today , September 26, 2025, I visited “atoa” in Hyogo Prefecture. “atoa” is a theatrical aquarium in Kobe City that combines art and aquarium design, emphasizing the experience. In addition to exhibiting animals in tanks, it also incorporates light, sound, and digital art. “Cave of Origin” features lighting inspired by schools of fish, which reflects off the surrounding mirrors, glass, and tanks, creating the illusion of depth and layers of light. “The Fluctuation of Life” is themed around the underwater world, and features elements such as rippling waves, moving water, and flickering light, creating the sensation of “floating underwater. ” “Forest of Spirits” is an area designed to “escape the underwater world and enter a misty forest.” Freshwater and terrestrial creatures are exhibited here , incorporating natural elements (driftwood, greenery, humidity, etc.) reminiscent of waterside, rivers, and forests . The visual atmosphere is emphasized with features such as sunlight filtering through the trees from the ceiling and forest mist effects . The “Exploration Room” is a relaxing space bathed in soft light. Its art space, designed to stimulate intellectual curiosity and explore knowledge and beauty, features approximately 2,500 books, living specimens, videos, and terrarium exhibits. Large freshwater fish and colorful fish offer a calming atmosphere. The “Wa to Hikari” Room, themed around the aesthetic of Japanese culture, is designed to offer a graceful moment of immersion in the beauty of nature. A glass floor allows visitors to look down on the graceful swimming of koi and goldfish, creating the feeling of walking on a garden . The traditional Japanese atmosphere is combined with fantastic lighting effects , creating a space that evokes the spirit of “wabi-sabi. ” The color and shadows of the light change depending on the time of day , expressing the scenery of Japan’s four seasons through light and shadow . “The Path of Lovely Time,” an original atoa piece by light papercut artist Atsumi Sakai, is a storytelling production themed around the changing seasons, depicting the transformation of a “flowering guide fish” into the “Sakuraryu,” the embodiment of spring . ” Miracle Planet ” is a space inspired by a planet where life once existed, intended to offer a fantastical experience blending the atmospheres of space and the deep sea . This space was designed by EiM, led by Mika Ninagawa and Hiroaki Miyata . There was a stuffed animal lottery, so I tried my luck. I won second prize! ” Skyside Garden” is an area for relaxing outdoors. Adorable American beavers and penguins are also present. You can also enjoy views of Kobe Port and Meriken Park. Finally, I’d like to share something I’d like to share with you. *I’ve written the same thing in the description. I hope this video will be helpful for your travels. We’ll be introducing these videos regularly, so please subscribe to our channel.
