A museum offering immersive experiences amid works of art opened near JR Kyoto Station on October 7.

The facility called “teamLab Biovortex Kyoto” is Japan’s largest museum created by teamLab, an artistic group made up of specialists from various fields including programming and mathematics.

Visitors can interact with artworks, such as by holding their hands over them to change the visuals and lighting and touching them to alter their shapes.

S/ Inoko Toshiyuki, teamLab / I hope people can wander about, forgetting their purpose and becoming one with the artworks.

The museum features over 50 works, including those being shown in Japan for the first time.

Admission fees start at 3,400 yen for adults aged 18 and above.
