Diego Gomez joined the Paraguay squad for training as they build for the World Cup finals.
The Albion midfielder is expected to feature in their friendly against Japan in Osaka on Friday.
Both nations have already secured their places in next summer’s tournament.
Kaoru Mitoma has been ruled out by a minor injury to his left ankle although he is expected to return to club action soon after the international window.
Gomez has started Albion’s last two Premier League games following a four-goal haul in the Carabao Cup tie at Barnsley which made big news back home.
Head coach Gustavo Alfaro messaged Gomez straight after the game and sees him as a central part of his plans.
Gomez trained in Osaka, from where the squad will move on to Seoul to face South Korea.
That game ends at about 1pm on Tuesday our time, giving Gomez plenty of time to return to England ahead of Albion’s home game with Newcastle.
Gomez is expected to be joined by his former Seagulls and Libertad colleague Julio Enciso at the World Cup.
Enciso made his debut for Strasbourg on Saturday after completing his move from Albion while recovering from summer knee surgery.
He went on as substitute in the last 20 minutes of a 5-0 win over Angers on Sunday.
