Miyajima, A Beautiful Mountain Island in Japan
Good morning from Mijima. I feel like a real solo traveler. I had 24 hours of insane food poisoning. It was awful. I couldn’t leave the hostel. But feeling much better today. All right, here we go. The floating tour gate of Mijima. How cool is that? [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Heat. Heat. No problem. I’m just really going to die. I’m going to die. Hello. This is good. Who was it doing? Yeah. K. [Music] down. Come on. Oh yeah. Okay. Thank you. Yeah. [Applause] Oh yeah. Hiking up a mountain day after I have extreme food poisoning. That’s it. [Music] We need more. Apple. [Music] So the fire at the shrine’s been said to be burning for 12,200 years. And they use this fire to light the peace flame in Hiroshima. It’s really cool. All right. You guys enjoy seeing this type of stuff. me climb a mountain literally the day after I had severe food poisoning. Uh just showing any sort of love, anything that you feel. Really appreciate it and I love sharing this stuff with you guys. Out here by myself doing crazy adventures like this. It’s what it’s all about. She’s [Music] going to be doing [Applause] I think my [Music] Wow. Okay. [Music] [Music] Yes, sir. So, if you want to do this, definitely get here early. Uh, there was no line whenever I got here, and now there is a massive line. I got here at like uh 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. I think. Holy crap. You’re going to be waiting. Get here early. Yeah. Holy crap. Get here early, guys. There are so many people here right now. To be fair, it is Golden Week, so that’s part of it. But yeah, I took the first bus and the first train out of the city to get here today, and I’m very glad I did. We’re going on a little boat ride. Be careful. Okay. [Laughter] Sick. This way. Wow. That’s so cool. Wow. So, I put it on. Yeah. All right. Having some uh maybe beer. Not sure. I asked for recommendation and I’m not sure if this is beer or not. Oh, it is. Okay. Okay, it says 5%. I think it’s alcohol right here on the island. Pretty damn cool. [Music] All right, I got some street food here. Deep fried oysters. I love oysters. Never had them cooked before. Only raw. That was appetizing. Tastes good. Looks kind of gross inside. Tastes really good though. Very light texture. Very very like soft inside. Tastes like the ocean and ready honestly. Honestly, doesn’t even taste that much like oyster, but it’s really damn good. It’s honestly some of like the lightest fried thing I’ve ever had. Very soft inside. Really good. I got me a beef croette. M. Yes, that’s what’s up. That is so good. I got a hazy IPA, too. It just came out today. New release. Life is good. Cheers. Look at this lady, man. Begging. Go get a job like the rest of us. Hold my beer. Watch this. Pretty cool, man. I was just sailing through here. Cheers. How awesome is this, man? ankle deep in water. Woo! A little chilly out. You should definitely definitely check out Miaima if you’re in Hiroshima. It’s awesome day trip. Beautiful island. Lots of fun. Very touristy, but still lots of fun. That’s what you’re here for, right?
In today’s video, I visit Miyajima, famous for the floating Torii gate. It is also home to wild deer that peacefully live among all the tourists and shops. Unlike the deer in Nara, these ones don’t harass you and are very calm. Take a couple of gondolas to the top of the mountain to visit an ancient temple with a 1200+ year-old fire that was used to light the Peace Flame in Hiroshima.
If you are ever in Hiroshima, I strongly suggest taking this day trip to visit this beautiful island. There are multiple ferries that run all day, making it very easy to get to.
If you enjoy this, check out the rest of my channel. I do solo world traveling, and in this series, I am on a month-long trip across all of Japan!
