Best Day Trip from Kyoto – Amanohashidate l Most Scenic Place of Japan | EP #4 I VLOG #149
[Music] Hi everyone, welcome back to the channel. Today we are taking a day trip from Kyoto to one of Japan’s most scenic spots, Amanu Hashidate, also known as the bridge to heaven. This place is listed as one of Japan’s top three scenic views. And I’ll show you exactly how to get there, what to do, and how to make the most of your day all in under a single day. So, let’s get started. [Music] From Kyoto station, hop on to Limited Express Hashidate, bound for Amano Hashidate. The ride takes about 2 hours and trust me, it’s half the experience. You’ll pass through the peaceful countryside, charming towns, and even spot the sea as you get closer. [Music] The train from Kyoto station to Amanu Hashidate runs every 30 minutes and costs 3,600 Japanese yen. Alternatively, you can also take a bus, which will cost 3,500 Japanese yen and takes about 2 and 1/2 hours. [Music] Welcome to Amanohashiate. The moment you step off the train, the sea breeze and the peaceful vibe will hit you instantly. Everything is walkable from here. And we are about to begin our adventure. [Music] There is an information center at the station itself where we can get all the information about this place, things to see and do. Another important thing you must do is take a return train ticket in advance so that while returning you don’t have to stand in the queue. [Music] We are at the first stop of Amanohashiate, the famous View Land. You can choose the cable car or open air chair lift. We went with the chair lift. And what a peaceful ride it was. [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] At the top, you are treated to a panoramic view of the famous sandbar stretching across Miyazub Bay. Covered in thousands of pine trees, this natural land bridge looks like a pathway connecting heaven and earth. You’ll see why people call it the bridge to heaven. Legend says if you bend over and look at the sandbar between your legs, it looks like it’s floating in the sky. [Music] Besides the view, Amanohashiate Viewand is also a small amusement park, perfect for families or couples. You’ll find a ferris wheel overlooking the bay, some mini amusement rides, go-kart, a small cafe with local sweets and drinks, and a souvenir shop selling regional specialtities. [Music] [Music] The return trip from the viewland by the chairlift offers extremely beautiful and astonishing view of the sandbar and the miaazu bay. Remember to capture it perfectly as this site will remain in your memory forever. Now it’s time for another major attraction of this tour. Biking across the iconic sandbar. We can rent a bicycle near the station for around 400 to 500 Japanese yen. [Music] These are the rented bicycles we hired. And I must admit that I had to do a bit of practice before heading to the sandbar. To actually set foot on the legendary sandbar of Amanu Hashidate, you’ll cross a unique rotating bridge called Kensen or water bridge. It’s located near Myazu Boat Pier right next to Chianji Temple. This isn’t a typical bridge. It slowly rotates 90° to allow boats to pass through the canal beneath it. Once it closes again, pedestrians and cyclists can cross over directly onto the sandbar. It’s a fun, unexpected moment that added a bit of excitement to our journey. [Music] Let’s cross the bridge and head to the sandbar which is a flat easy ride across 3 and 1/2 km path. Surrounded by over 7,000 pine trees, this path has beautiful ocean views on both the sides. [Music] [Music] [Music] While we were crossing the sandbar, it started to rain heavily. But thankfully we had the shelter where we could take a short break. [Music] [Music] The sandbar connects to the other side of a Manuhashiate, the charming Miazu Fushu area. A quiet and charming village that feels like stepping back in time. Here you’ll find some more attractions like Kasamatsu Park and a few shrines offering a peaceful V. It was still pouring, but we continued to explore this area. This side of Amano Hashidate offers a slower pace, perfect for a quiet stroll or a reflective break after exploring the sandbar. Surrounded by nature and steeped in culture, this peaceful village is known for its traditional homes, local eeries and historic temples like the beautiful Moto Kono shrine, one of the oldest Shinto shrines in Japan. [Music] [Music] [Music] We are now heading towards the Kasamatsu Park which is another famous observation spot offering spectacular view of the sandbar and the Miyazu village. To reach here we are taking a scenic cable car up to the mountain as it is on 130 m altitude from the ground. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Welcome to Kasamatu Park. Check out this map. You’ll find all scenic parts of Amanuhashiate mentioned here. [Music] [Music] This is Kasamasu Sky Terrace, a prominent observation spot. From this observation point, you get the most spectacular view of the sandbar and Miyazu Bay. [Music] [Music] You also get a good view of the cable car and chairlift moving up and down between the station and the park area. Peaceful, photogenic, and packed with charm. Kasamatu Park is a must- vvisit spot for anyone wanting the full Amanohashi experience. [Music] It’s time to go back and we’ll return to Amanohashiate station side. Now to complete the loop, we are taking a cruise ferry back to Amanohashiate Pier near the station site. This 12-minute ride gives you a whole new perspective of Amanohashiate from the water. [Music] [Music] The good part is that the rental bicycles can be brought on board. [Music] One of the major activity while cruising in the Bay Area is to feed these seagulls. It was really exciting to come on the upper deck area and feed these birds. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] The last attraction of today’s trip is Chianji Temple. It’s located next to the pier at a walkable distance from the station. [Music] The temple is known for granting academic success and is very popular with students. [Music] Before catching the train back, we decided to grab a quick bite and came to this restaurant. There are some good ery joints near the station offering amazing seafood options and rice bowls. There are some cafes with good coffee options and even matcha ice cream outlets as well. And that wraps up our incredible day at Amanu Hashidate. We hopped back on the limited express hashidate and in about 2 hours we were back in Kyoto with our heart full of nature and my camera full of memories. Riding back to Kyoto on these Hello Kitty trains was another epic experience. If you enjoyed this great trip, don’t forget to like, subscribe, and share with your friends. Drop your questions in the comments, and I’ll see you in the next video. Goas and Sanara from the bridge to heaven.
