Typhoon Halong is gradually approaching Japan. According to the Hong Kong Observatory, as of 8 am today (October 7), Typhoon Halong was located about 990 kilometers south of Tokyo and is expected to move northwest at a speed of approximately 15 kilometers per hour, crossing the waters south of Japan. The Observatory predicts that Halong will pass through the waters south of Japan in the next day or two and gradually intensify.
According to the China Meteorological Observatory, Typhoon Halong, the 22nd typhoon of the year, strengthened from a strong tropical storm to a typhoon level last night (October 6) and further intensified to a strong typhoon level this morning. As of 5 am, its center was located about 1,030 kilometers southeast of Kyushu Island in Japan over the northwestern Pacific Ocean.
The China Meteorological Observatory forecasts that Halong will move northwest at a speed of 15-20 kilometers per hour, gradually turning eastward from tonight until the daytime of Oct. 9, with its intensity continuing to increase. In the future, Halong will not have any impact on China’s waters.
