Travel to this UNDERRATED place in Hokkaido, Japan πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅| Hakodate City Guide

Wow, this Oh, there’s like a carnival going on. What is happening right now? Today, we’re going to be exploring the town of Hakuate. But the first order of business, we are going to go to the top of the observatory, which is supposed to have the best view of the whole city. Earlier today, we went to the Goryaku fort and filmed the most beautiful cherry blossom area, I think, in all of Japan. We have been doing a whole cherry blossom series, so definitely go check those out after these videos because this is arguably the best time to be in Japan. Now, it is a holiday weekend, so a lot of things are closed. And I wonder if people go like away for the weekend. I don’t know why you would in Aquadata because going to the Goryaku fort was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen, other than my wife, of course. [Music] You might not know where Hakodate is. So, let me tell you where it is. This is in the very northern part of Japan. And the prefixure of Hakodate is called Hokkaido. And there’s tons to do in this part of the country. But in order to get here, you had to get here either by train or by ferry. And we actually took a ferry to get to Hakadate. And if you have not seen that video, make sure at the end of this you go back and visit that one. [Music] I want that tree. I need that as a front door tree. New life goal. Didn’t know I needed it, but now I need it. This is quite the hill you have to climb up to get here. Working off all that 7-Eleven fried chicken. But if you know, you know. Fried chicken, egg, salad, sandwich. Oh my god. [Music] We made it. two tickets. They were 3600 yen each. Not too bad. [Music] Actually surprised we made it. There were a ton of people in front of us and I was kind of hoping we get the next one, but I think we’re at the end of the first one. There’s like a place. I went right in for Nick. We got a good spot and it’s so crowded. And the cherry blossoms are so lucky. [Music] And 5 minutes later, we are at the top of the observatory. It is so beautiful. Wa. [Music] Says no drone, but I don’t even think you need a drone because being up here is the drone. This camera right now is the drone shot. We think there’s another way you can get up here. Or well, two. I think you can hike up here. And I think you can take a taxi. I just saw a taxi like taking people down. So, I preferred the cable car even though it was a little expensive. It was so beautiful. We have been trying to get gacha pons for the longest time. When we came here last year and we went to Tokyo, we spent entirely way too much money on gacha ponds and we have not seen any in the week that we’ve been here. It’s a good one, man. That one better be good. You get anything good? Oh, they’re like stickers. It’s like build your build your own gacha pon. It’s like a blank ramen thing and then you put the stickers on it. Okay. After a one full day in Hakade, what do you think? I love it. It’s not as busy as I was expecting it to be and like the busy areas are pretty calm right now. I think cuz it’s a holiday weekend, but very special place. I would definitely come back here. We started in Tokyo, then we went to Coryama, then we went to Amory, and now we’re here. And I got to say, so far, I mean, we didn’t really spend any time in Tokyo cuz we were there last time, but I got to say, so far, this has been my favorite out of the three that we’ve visited because it’s just like much more lively. There’s so much happening. The cherry blossoms are beautiful. The weather’s beautiful. Like, it’s a really great place. And we had heard that the food is absolutely delicious here. Which speaking of food, let’s go down and get some food. Yes. [Music] [Music] Also, the temperature here is so amazing. 10 out of 10 recommend come here. And I think we went at a good time because we went right before sunset is coming and now people are rushing to get in there and to get sunset. And up there, I did see like signs that it could be up to a 40minute wait to catch one of the cable cars on the way back. But we’re going to go check this park out. It is like a 5-minute walk from here is the Hakodate Park. And from the top, you could see it in full of cherry blossoms. Like I said, a local told us about this and she said no tourists go here because they all go to the goryoku. So, I’m hoping we get this whole park to ourselves just in the serene cherry blossoms. [Music] Quick Anari shrine stomp off. We literally just happen to walk by this. But when you’re in Japan, these happen to be everywhere. Wow, this is a bigger than I thought and really nice. They have these like hanging lights. Wow. Oh, there’s like a carnival going on. What is happening right now? Did not expect this. We almost didn’t come here and I’m very glad we did. I thought it was be like a very like zen, tranquil, but no, people are having a great time. [Music] I truly don’t think I can get over these cherry blossoms. Like, I could enjoy them every single day and not ever get bored of them. Like, they’re so beautiful. We’ve literally spent the entire day hanging out with cherry blossoms and they’re so pretty. [Music] I just saw someone walking away with a funnel cake or what looked like a funnel cake and I want that to be me. I am so glad we came here. Had no idea. There is so much happening. The more you walk into the park, the more that’s happening. On Google Maps, this park did not look very big, but it’s not seeming that way. It is never ending, actually. [Music] Okay, I am absolutely loving the vibe of this city. This is the first time in this whole week where we’ve just seen so much energy. Like, everyone’s out enjoying this absolutely beautiful day with the most insane cherry blossoms. And I just Oh, I love it. I can really really tell why people love it here. This is not the kind of fair food that I grew up with, but I wish I did because that looked absolutely delicious. I grew up on fair food like fried Twinkies, fried Oreos, fried everything. But here you get chicken on a stick or sashimi. Like sometimes I wish I grew up in Japan. Hello. Hello. Everyone is carrying this churro and Nick had 600 yen left. I found the churro right here and the churo is 600 yen. Cinnamon and um a little uh cinnamon. Thank you. I love it so much. The slogan on here is long long sweet time because it’s 40 cm long. Light and airy and a perfect churro. Oh my god. Oh, that’s sweet. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a churro. So, I think all the stands go to the exit and then it goes all the way back up to the top where the main area is and then that’s where all like the rides are, which where we’re going next. Apparently, there’s also a zoo. This is just the fair that just keeps on giving. How amazing. I love Japan. Have I said that before? Look at the trees here. The cherry blossoms, like I said in the last video, the cherry blossoms are coming off the tree trunks. It’s not just on the branches. So beautiful. It’s like the perfect time of day to see these cherry blossoms. Part of the reason we’ve been stalling so much and hanging out in here is because the ramen place that we want to go to doesn’t open till 6:30. And it is 6:30 now. So, since everything is closed, we’re going to start making our way there. And we’re super hungry. [Music] You want to know how safe Japan is? Not one of these bikes has a lock on it. Not one. There’s like 50 bikes here. Not one has a lock on it. Also, the roads are always so clean and nicely paved. The houses look always like perfect. like flawless. Everything is so like gentle and polite. Even the rain here, like even if it’s raining hard, it’s still gentle. Like it doesn’t The Japanese love to be on camera. That’s what I’ve realized. Like I was saying, everything is just so gentle and I love it. Look at this yard. I know. That is my dream yard. All those bonsai. Okay. Hakodate is famous for many different kinds of food, but one kind of food in particular is butter ramen. It is traditional ramen, but the one you can get it like miso ramen, soy ramen, any of the ramens here, but they put like a chunk of butter in it, which I mean, yum. Here in Hakadate, they have one specific ramen that is very, very popular and it is the salt, butter, corn ramen. All of the good stuff, all in one thing. I love salt. I love butter. I love corn. All of it. Um, can I get this? Mhm. It’s been a long day of walking and sightseeing, so an ice cold beer is very welld deserved. Ramen with butter. Yes, please. That is insane. That is like if you like butter, you like salt, you like like a little bit of sweetness from the corn and you like soup, like chicken soup, you’re going to just This dish is absolutely crazy. My gosh. Thank you. That was so good night. That was so much fun. He was so sweet. The food was amazing. Definitely come to Alt Bar. It is Saturday night on a holiday weekend and there’s no one no one out. Where is everyone at? This is supposed to be the busy area according to Google Maps. Where’s everyone at? There are tons of restaurants, though. And all of the restaurants are full. So, maybe that’s where they are. [Music] Got the ticket. We ran after the tram. We have three stops on the tram. And then I give them this ticket and I pay with cash or you can use the Squea card, which is an amazing thing. You can add to your phone and use a 7-Eleven, all of it. In there. In there. [Music] We have made it back safe and sound. Well, everything’s safe here. But the tram was super easy. We only had to go three stops. But we’re going to close the video out here for today. We love We hope you enjoyed Hakuate as much as we enjoyed it. Seeing cherry blossoms and seeing that awesome park and a fair like who would have thought. But if you like this video, please give it a like. If you know anyone that’s coming to Japan, definitely share this video with them because they should absolutely come to Hakadate or you should come to Hakodate. In the next video, we are going to taking a first class train from Hakodate to Saporto. So, thanks for sticking around with us today. But we hope you enjoyed the video and until next time, see you on the go. [Music] If you are new here, hit that subscribe button because we’re okay. And we Hokkaido an estate or Yeah, it’s like the name of this area, the prefixure. I don’t know if they’re setting up or something, but I think that’s the biggest tripod I’ve ever seen in my life. And on the way down, I was trying to wave at this lady and she had no interest. I don’t know if she didn’t see me, but literally it is such a beautiful city that she moved from Kyoto to um she moved from Kyoto to Hakadato. Hakodat Hakadato. Hakodate. Sam has to try these on. Oh, it’s a beer. But why is it to see what having antlers is like? I have to do it. I have to do it. Sam’s mad at me. Now I know what having antlers is like. Oh, there’s a little deer right here. Little deer right here. [Music] Going up. Don’t look down. [Music] My life he’s my life he’s my life he’s my life
