a denim-lovers paradise, Kojima Jeans Street π #japanesedenim #japantravel
We made it to Koji Majeen Street where the stairs, train station entrance doors, vending machines, and lockers are all denim themed. After we stamped our notebooks at the station, we put our big duffles and backpacks in the coin lockers so we didn’t have to carry them while we explored. Leaving the station, there are a variety of hanging jeans above you, preparing you for the denim on Jean Street. Buses to the main strip are available, but after being on a train for a while, we prefer to walk. It’s a quick 15-minute walk from the station in Jean Street, and you get to see a sense of the town on the way. Kojima pays respect to Japanese denim at every corner. The road is dyed indigo, the color of Kojima’s iconic denim, and the red and white lines at the road’s edge resembled the denim salvage. We even saw signs for denim ice cream. Though not all the shops were open, we still had a great time. We were often the only ones walking the streets and in the shops. Our first denim shop we stopped in was Blue Wall, which ended up being our favorite denim shop in Kojima. We both got a pair of sto jeans and they fit us perfectly. We learned that Sto was a label under Japan Blue, also home to Momo jeans with each brand specializing in their own fit. What drew us into the store was Setto’s widelegg Japanese workware inspired silhouettes. We stopped by Cafe Japan Blue Garden for a little break and got a Setto lemon cake made from local lemons which was delicious. Kojima as a town was quaint and everyone was very welcoming. Overall, it was one of my favorite stops in Japan, and I’m excited to visit again in warmer weather. If you love denim or are curious about Japanese fashion, Cojima would be a great addition to your itinerary. Watch our full video for more about our time in Kojima.

Known as the birthplace of Japanese denim, Kayli & I visited Kojima during the winter & weβre one of the only people there. We left with our favorite denim & a new appreciation for the craftsmanship it takes to make Japanese denim. Would definitely recommend stopping by if youβre planning a Japan trip!

Woah amazing video!! I love how chill and relaxed all the camera shots are and how homey everything feels! Most Japan videos are super sensationalized and try to make everything look super wonderful like a theme park but you simply show what you run into and treat it as if its normal. Which I mean is obvious it is normal, to the people who live there and I really like that. Also what music did you use for this? Its so nice to listen to!
