Kurashiki, Japan.倉敷. A photographer paradise for your Instagram account. JR Kansai wide area pass.
[Music] This is Kurashiki located in Japan’s Okayama Prefecture. A city whose name means town of storehouses where every white wall warehouse tells story of prosperity and tradition. To access there, take the Shinkansen from Osaka to Okayama. It only takes 1 hour 15 minutes. Then change to a local train for a 10 minutes ride. We will be stopping at all stations before arriving at Shin Osaka Terminal. The conductor’s room is in car number eight. I don’t like to move too fast and drown the truth with things that are not real. And I really want us to be real with love. Love that last in the past. I messed up, gave too much. What is it with? Why can’t we? [Music] All the we want to leave behind. Centuries ago, Kureshiki was a vibrant trading half under direct control of the Chugunati. A lifelife of commerce where a small vessel with rice and cotton navigate these calm waters. Today the cargo ships are gone, replaced by a small and elegant tour boat. But the ambience of the Edo period golden age remain. As you walk its streets, you’ll discover a pretty fusion of east and west where preserved merchant home exists alongside western style building from the maji era. Kurashiki is famous for its well preserved bikinis historical quarter. A district of traditional Edo period houses along ascending canals. Visitors can explore this area on foot or by boat, visiting museums like the O’Hara Museum of Art, shopping at local boutiques and enjoy a unique blend of history and culture. Kurashik is known as the birthplace of domestic jeans and you will find many den store along the street. The city is also full of unique cafes and restaurant that you could enjoy. So, next time you plan your trip to Japan, don’t forget to stop in this beautiful city called Kurashiki. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music]
I have enjoyed visiting this picturesque city full of white buildings and canals. The town’s historical center is about 400 years old, and the Kurashiki River attracts people from around the world. Kurashiki is not as popular as Kyoto or Nara, but the beauty is exceptional. To get there is quite easy if you use the Shinkansen to Okayama and transfer to a local train to Kurashiki. It takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Osaka. The Kurashiki Bikan historical area is not big. It will take you approximately 2 to 3 hours to walk.
