Many fans remembered the late Taiwan-born singer Teresa Teng at a memorial concert in Taipei on Sunday. Dubbed a diva of Asia, she died 30 years ago at age 42.

A Taiwanese orchestra performed 17 of her hit songs. The audience gave a big round of applause after each tune, which included “I only care about you.”

A spectator in his 50s, who considers himself an avid fan of Teng, said he spontaneously recalled lyrics during the event and that she has always been in people’s hearts.

Her older brother Frank Teng heads a group that planned the concert. He said he is sincerely grateful to Japanese fans for extending ardent support for many years. He asked people to continue listening to his sister’s songs.
