On 30 September, the International Education and Student Mobility Division, together with student Peer Tutors, held the fall 2025 edition of the “Exchange Students Meet-up!” at the Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences Building.
Kyoto University maintains university-level student exchange agreements with approximately 150 partner institutions worldwide and hosts around 300 exchange students annually. In the fall semester of 2025, it welcomed 186 new exchange students.
The 30 September event provided an opportunity for these new students to interact with those who had enrolled in the previous semester, as well as with KyotoU students interested in international exchange.
The approximately 167 participants — about 152 from partner universities and 15 from KyotoU — rotated seats every 10 minutes to speak with as many people as possible.
The event proved to be a valuable opportunity for building friendships with peers from around the world, with some students exchanging contact information afterward.
