I Found 5 Unbelievable JAPAN Houses from $6k to $38k | Move-In Ready & Near the Coast πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅βœ¨

Every time I travel across Europe and Asia looking for unique properties, I’m amazed at how many hidden opportunities are waiting to be discovered. And today, I want to take you to a place that most people never imagine when they think about affordable living. Japan. Yes, Japan. The country of vibrant cities, ancient traditions, and some of the most breathtaking coastlines in the world. But what if I told you that you could actually own a home here just minutes from the sea for a fraction of what you’d pay in the United States? I’m talking about movein ready houses starting from just $6,700 up to only $38,000. In this video, I’ll show you five properties in different parts of Japan, each with its own charm and lifestyle. Some are in quiet coastal towns where time slows down. Others are surrounded by stunning landscapes that make you feel like you’re living inside a painting. My goal is to give you not just a tour of the houses, but also a glimpse of what life could look like if you decided to take the leap into a slower, more natural way of living without the overwhelming costs you’d expect back home. So, if you’ve ever dreamed of waking up by the sea in Japan, enjoying fresh seafood, peaceful surroundings, and a culture that balances tradition with modern convenience, stay with me because these opportunities are unlike anything you’ve seen before. I often look for places that blend quiet living, nature, and culture, and Isumo in Shemaini Prefecture definitely meets those criteria. With a population of about 172 mean 65 people, Izzumo gives you breathing room without feeling completely isolated. You can wander through Izzumo Tisha, the ancient grand shrine, stroll along Shinand Dori with its local cafes and sweet shops, or relax at Inasan Noama Beach, where the sunset over the Sea of Japan is unforgettable. For family outings, there’s the Iumo Science Center, which hosts hands-on exhibits and workshops, which hosts hands-on exhibits and workshops. This house is a traditional Japanese 9DK, nine rooms plus dining kitchen. Built in 1955 with a footprint of 322 on a land plot of 106 Matu. The west side is adorned with region typical tsukiji pine trees. Great for shade, scenery, and that sense of place. It has a parking area large enough for four cars. The interior needs some work. Utilities include water, a kitchen using LP gas, and a bath heated by kerosene. Two advantages of choosing Isumo. Scenic and tranquil coastal lifestyle. Proximity to the Sea of Japan and beaches like Inasan Noama means stunning views and slower pace. Essential services are accessible and public transport are in reach. So living here isn’t sacrificing convenience. Two disadvantages of living in Isumo. Remoteness from major metropolises. Izumo isn’t close to something like Tokyo. Air or train travel to big cities takes more time. Seasonal and weather considerations. Winters can be long and some services may slow down or become less available. About 24 minutes by car to JR Shobra station and also 24 minutes to the Ichabata Railways Kitamatsu Line at Hiata Station and also 24 minutes to the Ichibata Railways Kamatsu line at Hiata Station. The nearest airport is Izzumo and Musubi Airport about 28 minutes by car. For more extensive shopping, there’s Eon Mall Izumo hosting international and domestic brands, restaurants, and a movie theater. Hospitals in the area include Chimeain Perfectal Central Hospital. Also, Izzumo Municipal General Medical Center in Nadabuno with many specialties and emergency services. Price: USD 38731 approximately 35,850 or approximately 30,800 British pound. If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping off the usual path and buying a home where pine trees frame your windows and your neighbors are more likely farmers or artisans than traffic noise, this property in Isumo might be the chance you’ve been waiting for. I find Seo a fascinating place, quiet, rural, and very connected to nature. This town in Hyogo Prefecture has about 1571 residents, giving it a serene, spread out feel. Its landscapes include rolling hills, forested sections, and in summer, the area is known for fields of sunflowers in the Nano region. In Seo, you won’t find the bustle of big cities, but you will find peace, fresh air, and genuine local life. For family time, there are seasonal festivals in each village, riverside, and rural roads perfect for biking. Kids can explore local shrines and small community centers, while adults might take day trips to nearby cities for dining or cultural performances. The home is a 70k townhouse, seven rooms plus dining kitchen, built in 1973 with 151 m2 of built area. On the property, there are multiple outbuildings, a large agricultural equipment shed of 110572, a smaller warehouse of 15272, another warehouse of 4648 MW, a combined bathroom warehouse building of 48080 MOTU. There is also a 244 MAU plot of farmland attached, which is optional to purchase. Parking space is available for multiple vehicles. It is a semi- detached dwelling in the Nango zone south of central SIO. It’s about 7 minutes by car to Harima Tokohisa station on the JR line. The Chugoku Expressway Sio is reachable in roughly 12 minutes by car. While this property isn’t right by the sea, the nearest coastline is accessible by regional roads in about 1.5 hours. Hospitals. One nearby is Shosha Hospital in Hyogo in Himi area which handles internal medicine, orthopedics, dermatology and more. Also in the wider Hyogo region, there are English friendly hospitals such as Kobe Adventist Hospital and Kobe City Medical Center General Hospital. For supermarkets and daily shopping, you’ll find local general stores and small grocerers scattered in neighborhoods. Price USD 2838 or approximately €26,250 or approximately 22,750 British pounds. If you desire a property where walls whisper history, outbuildings offer endless creative use and you wake up to sunflower fields and silence. This house in Seo offers a rare chance to own a distinctly Japanese rural home. I’ve always been drawn to places that combine small city comfort and mountain scenery. And Nano in Nagano Prefecture delivers just that. With about 42664 residents spread across 11218 KO2, Nano has a relaxed density yet a vibrant community life. Nestled on the Zenoji plane along the Chukuma River and surrounded by forested hills, it feels intimately close to nature. Local life includes farmers markets, Orange Farmers Market, the tranquil Epongji Park, and the Japan Clay Dolls Museum, which draws visitors with its charming exhibitions. Kids and families enjoy walking trails, seasonal festivals, and little cultural events in the community centers. This listing is part of Nano’s vacant house bank program under Aka Nakano City, meaning it is registered as a traditional home looking for new owners. The home is laid out as 5DK, five rooms plus dining kitchen with room sizes WW8, W10, W125, W10, W6, Japanese tatami style dimensions. There’s parking for one and two cars outside and one in a garage, utilities, running water, and electricity. The structure is wooden, built in 1947 with a building area of 237 meu on 820 of land. Sewage is handled via pumping. The house has excellent natural light, and while it’s in decent shape, it needs renovation of the kitchen floor. The property is not coastal. The nearest sea is several hours by road and train. The walk to the nearest station is significant, about 4,000 Matahasu station on the Ayama line, roughly a 51-minute walk. Has station on the Ayama line lies about 4,000 to be distant. As for airports, the closest major airports in the wider region are Matsumoto airport. For medical care in Nano and the greater Nagano region, Hokushin Hospital is known locally as a regional hospital serving the area. In nearby Nagano City, you’d get access to full hospitals like Nagano Red Cross Hospital or Nagano Municipal Hospital. For supermarkets and shopping, you’ll typically travel towards Central Nagano or toward Nagano City. price USD10, 2017 or approximately EUR92709,270 or approximately 8,000 British pounds. This Nano property could be your canvas. Let this be the chance to build your dream in one of Japan’s quieter corners. I’m drawn to Fukuchi for its blend of small city energy and rural surroundings. In March 2022, the city counted about 7637 inhabitants over an area of 55254 Kai 2, yielding a pleasant balance of community and open space. Positioned in northern Kyoto Prefecture, it lies along the Yura River and is bounded by forested hills, giving the feel of a city with nature at its doorstep. The city offers many things to do. You can visit Fukuchyama Castle, which is restored as a museum and gives great views over the area. There is also a local cinema, shopping avenues, seasonal festivals, and riverbank walks for families. This listing is a 70k, 7 rooms plus dining kitchen, two-story wooden home built in 1976 with about 136 mu of floor space, 126 mu of interior listed, and a traditional tile roof. The house has one parking space. Utilities include a propane gas stove for the kitchen, running water, and a kerosene heated bathroom system. Some repairs are needed floors, but structurally it’s solid. The property has been vacant since November 2019. Though it’s not on the coast, you can reach sea regions via regional roads in 1 2 hours, depending on direction and transport. The nearest airports are not directly adjacent. You typically rely on regional airports and connect by train or car. For healthare, Fukuchyama City Hospital is the key medical center in the city. Daily life is supported by small shops. But for more extensive shopping, department, electronics, and fashion, you travel toward Fukuchama’s commercial districts where malls and urban retail clusters exist. Price: USD 1017 or approximately €9,270 or approximately 8,000 British pounds. If you imagine inhabiting a space where castle echoes meet quiet lanes and living near a community that combines tradition with accessibility, to me, that’s exactly what this Fukuyama home offers. Whenever I investigate places with both regional convenience and a touch of suburban calm, Higashi Hiroshima consistently stands out. As of April 2023, this city is home to around 190186 people spread across about 635 16 K2 which gives it a moderate density and diverse landscapes. It stretches from the foothills into areas that reach toward the Stoland Sea, offering varied geography and a pleasant balance of urban and semi-ural life. In Higashi Hiroshima, you’ll find the charm of Sake breweries lining Sake Storehouse Street in Saiou, where local festivals celebrate Sake culture every October. The city hosts campuses of Hiroshima University and other institutions, which brings student energy, cultural events, and occasional concerts. This property is a 5DK, five rooms, and dining kitchen dwelling built in 1979 with about 133m2 of building area on a 223M2 lot. There is dedicated parking. The structure is wooden and it’s a candidate for renovation or remodeling to refresh it to modern standards. The house is equipped with municipal water supply and full sewage with utilities set up for daily living. Access is good. JR Kawatchi station is about 7 and 50 m away on foot and a local Gayo bus stop sits just 450 m from the property. The house faces a public road of approximately 4.0 swamp of width with a 13.10 me frontage. Its location brings both peace and livability near enough for daily errands but without constant hustle. Though it’s not coastal, the city extends toward the Stoland Sea in its western parts. For air travel, you would use the larger airport serving Hiroshima Prefecture, connecting via road or rail to reach them. Medical care, Higashi Hiroshima Medical Center is the key hospital here, handling serious cases and emergencies. Also, Inukuchi Hospital in Sai is a well-known local facility offering internal medicine, orthopedics, and general care. Daily conveniences include local grocery shops and convenience stores scattered in neighborhoods. price 6678 or approximately 6,185 or approximately 5350 British pounds. If the idea of owning a home where age meets potential and where you’re part of a city that bridges tradition with modern living appeals to you, this Higashi Hiroshima house is one of the most compelling entry points I’ve seen in Japan. And that wraps up our journey through these five incredible homes across Japan. I hope this gave you a new perspective on what’s possible when you look beyond the usual real estate markets. Owning a home close to the sea in Japan for less than the cost of a used car in the US is not just a dream, it’s a real opportunity. 1. They look lovely, but my language skills would never survive living in rural Japan! Great for people who already speak Japanese, though. Or who pick up languages easily.
