Himeji Castle Day Trip from Kyoto or Osaka 🏯 Japan’s Most Beautiful Fortress!
[Music] Hello everyone, welcome back to the channel. Today Natsumi and I took a trip from Kyoto to the city of Himi. Hei is the home of Heiji Joe, which is Japan’s largest castle. From Kyoto, it’s about a 50-minute trip on the Shinkansen. And from Osaka, it’s even quicker, about 40 minutes. So, if you are in Kyoto or Osaka, this would be a great day trip to take from either one of those cities. And you can probably barely see it all the way out there in the distance. But it was built in 1333. It’s undergone multiple deconstructions, reconstructions, renovations over the years, and in 1993, it was designated as a world UNESCO heritage site. So, we’re very excited about checking it out. But first, we’re going to go ahead and grab some lunch. So, let’s go. [Music] All right, everyone. So, here in Hei, this is the food that you’re supposed to eat when you come here. And this is basically takoyaki or you know balls of batter with octopus in it. Um but there’s also a soup included and you’re supposed to dip it in the soup. You can choose to dip it or you can choose not to dip it and add sauce to it. So we’re going to do half of sauce and then we’re going to dip half. Matsumi and I are going to share this together. So let’s see how it is. Oh my she’s the ultimate comfort food. Very good. Ultimate comfort food. So this is the thing to do when you come to Hamei. It’s takoyaki but hei style. [Music] Hey everyone. So, after about a 20-minute walk, we finally made it to Heiji Joe right there behind us. So, we’re going to go in, get tickets, and take a walk around. [Music] Okay guys, so we’ve walked through the main entrance and now we’re on our way through I think a secondary entrance. But this is just spectacular. Especially like the remaining cherry blossoms. It’s really really nice. What do you think? It’s beautiful. Beautiful. [Music] So these were defensive positions so they could see who was coming. Uh typically you’d have the archers here keeping a watch. [Music] [Music] [Music] I’m just impressed by the sheer size of this place and how well it’s maintained. It’s It’s really amazing how well they take care of these things. So, um we’ve walked through a little bit of this now and it’s really interesting all the little spaces you got to squeeze into. So this area here, they want you to take your shoes off before you go inside the the main castle area. So we already do that. So off we go. [Music] So these latches here is where they would drop stones onto unsuspecting invaders. Very cool. [Music] So this is where we are currently within the main castle. [Music] So, as we get higher and higher in this castle, it’s getting smaller and smaller. Pretty cool. Some of these steps are pretty steep. So, all right. So, this is like super super small here, but apparently we’re going to the sixth floor. All right, here we go. One more. The sixth floor, guys. [Music] We walked up this entire thing, guys. All right, everybody. So, we just made our way back down from Heiji Castle. Six flights of stairs, very steep at times, but what an incredible experience. Just amazing. So, um I say that if you’re ever in Kyoto or Osaka, just take the trip. You know, it’s 50 40 minutes depending on where you are. Take the trip here. You’re not going to regret it. What did you think, babe? I think it was just gorgeous. Um, the ticket was only a,000 yen per person, so it’s definitely worth it. Absolutely. And the grounds are huge. So, I mean, it it is a lot of walking, but it’s just it’s extremely worth it. So, with that, we’re going to go ahead and end the video here. I hope you enjoyed it. If you did, please leave a like and a comment, and we’ll see you guys in the next video. Drinks of the steak.

So funny but I’ve been to Japan heaps and never visited Himeji Jo😭😭😭 it’s on my list!
This is the food that you are "supposed to eat". Yes….Not spaghetti! 🙂
