Gyukatsu Motomura, Osaka Station food & Celestine Gion Kyoto Hotel || Osaka to Kyoto || Japan Day 11

Welcome to Osaka! We are in Osaka Station’s Lucua Mall on the 10th floor, on a mission to find a lunch spot! We are here to try Gyukatsu Motomura, a popular chain in Japan known for its beef cutlet, or Gyukatsu The restaurant had great reviews on Google Maps and was very popular on Instagram. We waited about 30 minutes for lunch You can grill the cutlet at your own seat. A meal set ranges from 1930-3060 Yen ($13-20 USD) depending on the amount of meat They even show you how to best cook and enjoy it! Our own tiny rock stoves have arrived! There are salt and additional sauces for you to add if needed The stone plate is starting to sizzle! This is the smallest size for 1930 Yen ($13 USD), and it’s so much food! There are multiple sauces to dip the beef with, which is a good idea since the meat is a bit fatty Overall, we rated this 4 out of 5 stars. It was delicious and fun, and we would highly recommend it if you like fatty beef! There are also many other delicious restaurants on this floor This one has a variety of Okonomiyaki Their English menu has items ranging from 1400-2200 Yen ($9-15 USD). Thai food Italian food. A variety of pizza and pasta There’s also a waygu beef shabu shabu (hotpot) restaurant Hakatatenpura Takao, also known as Hakata Tempura Takao, is a tempura chain that make the food fresh. They are known for their mentaiko pickles dipping sauce bibim ‘ Rukuaosakamise Korean Restaurant It has a variety of bibimbap (stone mixed rice) and Korean soup The Platinum buffet offers pasta, pizza, and other western cuisines for only 1,899 Yen ($13 USD)! Ding Tai Fung, a popular Taiwanese restaurant, is known for their soup dumplings, which the chefs make right in front of you! This looks like a conveyor belt sushi restaurant Tonkatsu Maisen, a fried pork cutlet restaurant, has limited quantities for some of their items. Unagi Toku, founded in 1909, is one of the well-known freshwater eel restaurant chains in Japan We’ve tried it in their Tokyo Ginza branch before, and it was delicious! Another restaurant offers wagyu beef steak and shabu shabu hot pot meal sets for around 2500 Yen ($18 USD) This restaurant has a variety This restaurant has a variety of meal sets to choose from! meal sets to choose from! There’s also an Omurice restaurant! And a skewer spot with a fun mascot! Another seafood restaurant! So many restaurants to choose from! Is that a ferris wheel on top of the building?! After the delicious lunch, we decided to explore the malls nearby and shop for clothes The mall has many small shops So many bags! After shopping and eating, let’s get our luggage and head to Kyoto! Retrieving suitcase was very simple! Just need to keep the QR code Heading to the train station entrance We’re buying our tickets via the kiosk For the train to Kyoto from Osaka, you need to choose the Kanazawa direction It was 2,680 Yen ($18 USD) for 2 people. It’s about a 50-minute ride on the limited express train, while the Shinkansen is about 15-30 minutes The limited express train is accessed via the JR lines entrance We made it! It’s not rush hour, so there is plenty of room left Goodbye Osaka! Kyoto is about a 20-50 minute train ride away from Osaka depending on which train you take We arrived in Kyoto! Kyoto Station has a really cool open glass ceiling roof Kyoto Station The iconic Nidec Kyoto Tower A miniature of the Rajo-mon Gate in Heian-kyo, a city established in 794AD as the capital of Japan Right next to the station is the Kyoto Theater Let’s take a taxi to our hotel The Celestine Hotel is about a 10-minute taxi ride away from Kyoto Station or 20 minutes by bus The Celestine Hotel Gion Kyoto The traditional architecture blends in with the rest of the buildings in this historic district This hotel is part of the Celestine hotel chain Hotel lobby We were welcomed by the staff to sit at the sofa while they took care of the check-in paperwork. Amazing service! Guest room area request card entrance The Celestine is a Western-style luxury hotel, but it also infuses Kyoto’s traditional ryokan elements in this location Room tour! Bathroom on the left, bed, closet, sitting area by the window, and a TV Our window has a view of the interior garden There’s a beautiful set of teapot and cups on a gold leaf mat The bedding and pillows are comfortable Each room provides two bathrobes and baskets They also provide Yukata (casual kimonos) to wear during your stay Let’s see what types of drinks and snacks they provide Elegant set of coffee cups – look at the design! Snacks and drinks are available for purchase The minifridge has a few drinks for purchase inside Phone chargers are also provided There is a water boiler and ice bucket as well Bathroom sink Like most Japanese hotels, Celestine provides a variety of bathroom amenities Including a toothbrush, hair brush, razor, and shaving cream They also provide these two elegant towels that look like wrapping sheets Let’s see if it has instructions on what to use this for Each side has a different color! Next to the entrance is the shoe rack It includes slippers for the bathroom area The bidet toilet is a standard setup The shower area and bathtub are in a separate room A sitting area is provided as well After the room tour, we wanted to explore the hotel lounge The lounge is opened 1-6pm for guests It has drinks and snacks, as well as a beautiful wooden table to hang out at Coffee machine Crackers and cookies Candies and sweet treats Drinks Beautiful flower arrangement This booklet highlights nearby attractions like this temple across the street It also includes origami paper for entertainment Downstairs from the lounge is the hotel lobby and restaurant The restaurant offers tempura, wagyu beef, and hot pot sets from 13250-16500 Yen ($90-112 USD) per person, which is quite expensive! Stepping outside the hotel, we are in the heart of Gion, Kyoto’s most famous geisha and historic district Its convenient location, exceptional service, and elegant and comfortable room design made this an incredible hotel stay We rated this hotel 4.5 stars out of 5. The nightly rate was about ~$250 USD. Definitely recommend staying here in Gion! We will explore rest of Gion and rest of Kyoto in the next video. See you soon!

After lunch, we wandered through Lucua Osaka Station, the massive shopping and dining mall directly connected to Osaka Station. It’s packed with restaurants, bakeries, and shopsβ€”a perfect spot for food lovers.

From Osaka Station, we hopped on the JR Limited Express to Kyoto Station (about 50 minutes and ~$9 per person). Super easy and convenient! There is also Shinkansen available on this route (about 15-30 minutes).
