Summer Stroll Through Sapporo | Hokkaido Food Tour & City Walk Experience
Hello from Sapporo! The weather is nice and comfortable, not hot like in Tokyo. I’m staying here for just 2 nights. It was almost evening by the time I arrived. And on the last day I have to head to the airport early, so I chose a hostel to save money. I picked a room with a big comfy bed. The bathroom here is a shared-style onsen. Near sunset, I went out to grab some ramen. When I ordered, I didn’t know it was a large bowl. When I went to pick it up, people stared haha. Here’s a size comparison with my hand. The noodles are perfectly cooked, and the soup is tasty. But I finished it all… very full. Took a walk to digest the food. Then I’ll soak in the onsen and call it a night. Evening atmosphere. I slept well last night after the onsen soak. The bed was super comfy, but some guests were really loud 😅 They didn’t quiet down until after midnight. If you’re an early sleeper, tough luck haha. Gonna take a walk to see the Sapporo TV Tower. Nice weather, perfect for walking. Here we are. Wandering aimlessly around the city. I’ll grab something to eat soon. Sapporo Clock Tower The Sapporo Clock Tower is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Built in 1878 as part of the Sapporo Agricultural College (which later became Hokkaido University). Time to go get some sushi — heading there before noon to avoid the crowds. Sushi restaurant: Nemuro Hanamaru Looks like I’ll get a table right away. Lucky — no waiting! Special menu Started off with minced tuna gunkanmaki. Next was salmon. Premium tuna roll with pickled radish. Extra premium tuna — ¥462 Editing this video is making me hungry again! Salmon roe Ark clam — ¥330 Grilled tuna (not sure which part 😅) So hungry! Grilled engawa — smells amazing I’m full now. Right after I finished eating, people started lining up. 3014 yen (about 660 baht) Continuing my walk I came here at the end of June, just before that July 5 tsunami prediction rumor. Since landing in Tokyo, I noticed how empty everything was. Hokkaido Government Office (Old Red Brick Building) Built in 1888 in Neo-Baroque American style architecture. Constructed using over 2.5 million red bricks — hence the nickname “Red Brick Building”. It’s now a free museum showcasing Hokkaido history, old government documents, and rotating exhibitions. There’s also a beautiful garden — great for photos, especially in autumn or when it’s snowing. Sat watching ducks for a while and heard some music drifting in the air. So I ended up enjoying a lovely tune. Thanks for the beautiful music and peaceful vibes. Watching the little ducks is so relaxing. Leaving the park and heading back to the hotel — but stopped to look at crows. Strolling around the park near the TV Tower. They have food stalls here too — too bad I’m still full. Some kind of grilled corn dish. Ice cream and snacks In the evening, the weather’s perfect and people are relaxing outdoors. Crossed the street to check out more shops. Quick stop at Donki (Don Quijote) Let me know in the comments — what Hokkaido snacks are worth buying? Anything but milk flavor please 😂 Leave a comment! I’d love to come back in winter when there’s snow. Evening’s here, and I’m starting to get hungry again. Something told me to finally try soup curry. Honestly, this dish never really called to me. But I figured I should try it before I leave. Long line of people waiting. Staff handed me a menu while I waited. Almost my turn! Ordered a cold beer first! Here it comes. I ordered chicken. Served with rice. Looks delicious. So tasty! I really like it — nicely spicy. Wow, why didn’t I try this sooner? I love it! If I had one more day, I’d come back for the seafood version. Totally hooked now. Back to the hotel. Time for a soak. Thanks for watching! Please like, leave a comment, and share your favorite spots to visit or eat 😁
