Okinawa day trip to Tokashiki Island

Welcome back everybody. Today I’ll be taking you to an island in Okinawa that has crystal clearar waters and stunning views. I’ll also be sharing important directions on how to get here, plus tips to help you make the most out of your trip. Let’s dive in. We decided to take a taxi to the Tamari War Ferry building. It was about a 10-minute drive from our hotel. Most of the signs were in Japanese. Look at the line right here. Wow. Line all the way over there. There are two ways to get to Tokushiki Island. A 40-minute fast ferry or a cheaper 70-minute one. We’re taking the slower ferry, about 3,000 yen round trip per person, roughly $20 US. It’s a little bit hectic here. We got online and we got super lucky. Uh, one piece of paper said the whole boat was sold out for the day, but luckily we spoke to a worker and said they could fit us on there. So, uh, we’re in line right now to get a ticket. There’s like no one here. No one for the other line. And then such a long line over here. You can also store stuff here. Luggage storage. We finally got tickets. It’s about 9:45. The boat takes off at 10:00 a.m. Um, guessing this is the boat. Hopefully, we go to the right one. I got to Let’s see. Try going up. Luckily, it’s covered. Heading to the balcony now. Let’s see. Oh, this is seating on the balcony. Uh, not much seating, and you don’t want to be exposed to sun. The sun’s super hot, so I recommend getting shade. We finally made it. I can’t believe we left the hotel maybe 30 40 minutes ago and now we’re here on the boat. Like, who knew? And overall, we got so lucky. We got a last minute ticket because the paper everywhere was saying the boat was sold out. So, I’m happy they were just squeezed us down these boats. For the boat, there’s different seating. There’s like this level right here where it’s covered, but outdoor there’s indoor seating and then downstairs there’s seating on like the floor that has like mats on it. Um, recommend indoor seating cuz seats are a lot softer. So, we’re doing a hall here. Um, next to the ticket booth uh where we were earlier, there’s a small food stand where you get like bento boxes, some pastries, water to go. So, I got this katu bento box for about $3, which is pretty good. And then we got these two different like onaries. One’s more of a donut style for about $1 to $2 each. It’s last call. Those people need to start moving. Need to start moving about to take off. Uh, you can see the other boat is about to leave. If you get seasick easily, it’s a good idea to bring some motion sickness pills for the ferry. The waves weren’t too bad, but enough to make me feel a little queasy. There are bathrooms on board if you need them. One thing to note is that there wasn’t any cell service or Wi-Fi on the ferry. It’s been raining every day since we arrived, so we were really hoping for some sunshine at the beach. [Music] Before we knew it, we were pulling into the island. You could already see the buses waiting in the distance. The bus was full, so I got stuck in this makeshift seat in a Currently no taxis on the island. And if you miss this one bus and then you get like a 10-minute buffer, then you’re pretty much stuck here for another hour until you can take the next bus. And we’re going to take the 3:00 p.m. bus back to the port. Here’s the price. 400 yen per adult one way. Offer two and me. Two. Yeah. I got Oh, we made it. It’s 400 yen per person, 800 for two people. You got to make sure you come back in time, otherwise the bus is going to leave without you and then you’re going to be camping on the island. So that’s the bus. So here’s the map. We are at the beach pretty much. So here’s the bus right here. And there’s a bathroom right here. It was a perfect schedule to memorize if you want to make it back. Guys, we just got off the bus and the view here. Wow. Here you can rent some activities. Not bad. Wow. Yeah. Made it to Tokushiki Island. Look at this. This literally like the Maldi of Japan. Look how clear that blue water is. Wow. It’s very bare bones here. It looks like we’re definitely need to get umbrella set or we’re going to be burning all day. Look at this. Wow. Can you try uh the music too? Can you Is this okay? Yeah. Okay. Thank you. I got tickets. The water is at 200 each, which is a little over $1 US and it’s a minimum of 3,000 if you want to use credit card. I got tickets. Chinese. Okay. 20 US per person. That’s fine. It’s a good deal. So to this we got a sign. Okay. Yellow. This one is for swimming area. Yeah. Watch out. Uh don’t go over there. Cut your feet. So total is about $20. So now it’s required to get a life vest when you swim. Uh everything else is optional, but it’s included in the package. So we’ll get try a large. Let’s see. A large. And then we got the snorkel goggles down here. And then fins as well. We have 20 minutes to kill before the boat comes and we got no umbrella set, so this will have to do. And I’m super excited for the unhappy island because they said it’s better for swimming. We got our snorkel gear and hopefully it’s less crowded as well. [Music] Here’s the boat. Found the boat. Time to board it now. [Music] [Music] [Music] I don’t know. [Music] [Music] Made it to the island. I’m not sure to see honestly, but it’s pretty cool. The water is way more blue here. And there’s supposed to be more fish down here. [Music] A crab. Oh, there’s another crab. There’s a stream. Oh, wow. It’s so hot here. I’m going to try to find a spot to set up in the shades so our like liquids and foam don’t cook in the sun. This looks like a good spot. We’ll set up over here and drop off my bag. [Music] [Music] The boat is back after hour. It’s time to head back on. We had some time left before the bus would arrive, so we decided to check out one of the cafes and hang out. Silent’s pretty massive. over here and go all the spots around here. Cocktails, bore. Drinks look refreshing, too. Mango milk. Wow. On our way back to Naha, we decided to sit on the carpet. It seemed more comfortable and cooler than the other spots. Luckily, we made the right choice because soon after it started to rain and the place we had originally planned to sit was completely soaked. Thank you for watching my video. Hope you enjoyed it.
