By Zoila Palma:  The Belize Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka received a royal visit this week as Their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, toured the exhibit.

Prince Edward, the youngest brother of King Charles, made a special request to stop at the pavilion during his visit to the World Expo, which is being held on Yumeshima Island in Osaka Bay.

During their visit, the royal couple learned about Belize’s rich cultural heritage and sampled a selection of traditional Belizean treats.

Their tour concluded with a photo opportunity that highlighted Belize’s unique presence at the global event.

Belize remains the only country in Central America where English is the official language, a legacy of its historic ties to the United Kingdom.

Expo 2025 Osaka, running from April 13 to October 13, brings together countries from around the world under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”

The Belize Pavilion is featured among the exhibits across three thematic districts focused on “Connecting,” “Empowering,” and “Saving Lives.”
