Places like Emerald Beach and Condo Beach are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or just relaxing on the soft white sand. The water here shines in shades of blue you’ve never seen before. [Music] Next, let’s talk about history. Okinawa was once the center of the Ryukyu Kingdom, and the most famous symbol of that era is Shuri Castle. Although it was sadly destroyed by fire in 2019, reconstruction is underway, and it still stands as a powerful reminder of Okinawa’s proud heritage. [Music] Okinawa also has a rich culture. One of the highlights is Issa, a traditional dance performed during summer festivals with powerful drumming and colorful costumes. And of course, there’s the San Chin, a three- stringed instrument that produces a sound unique to Okinawa. It’s soothing and full of soul. Of [Music] course, no trip is complete without food. Okinawan cuisine is healthy, unique, and delicious. Take Okinawa soba. It’s not like Japanese ramen or soba. It’s thick wheat noodles in a pork-based broth topped with tender slices of pork belly. Then there’s Goya Shampuru, a stir fry made with bitter melon, tofu, and pork. surprisingly tasty and very healthy. Don’t forget refu tea slowbraised pork belly that melts in your mouth. And for drinks, Aamorei, Okinawa’s traditional distilled liquor with over 500 years of history. This food culture is one reason why Okinawa is known for longevity. Beyond the beaches, Okinawa is full of adventure. The Karaama Islands are world famous for diving with coral gardens and manta rays. Gokendo Cave with its endless limestone formations feels like another planet. And if you love hiking, head to Yandaru in northern Okinawa. It’s a subtropical forest home to rare species like the Okinawa rail, a flightless bird found nowhere else in the world. Okinawa is a true paradise for nature lovers and adventurers alike. [Music] Okinawa also holds powerful memories of World War II. The Battle of Okinawa was one of the bloodiest battles and its scars remain. At the Peace Memorial Park, you’ll find monuments and names of all who perished, reminding us of the importance of peace. Visiting here is a moving experience.
