Miyajima: Morning Walk on Quiet Island | Hiroshima, Japan
An early morning walk through quiet Miyajima Omotesando shopping street, along the waterfront, around Ikutsushima Shrine, and down sleepy residential streets. Miyajima is a small island in the Seto Inland Sea, a stone’s throw off the coast from Hiroshima on the mainland. The island is famous for it’s Itsukushima Shrine Otorii Gate, which sits in the tidal zone, looking like it’s floating at high tide and enabling visitors to walk to its base at low tide. The island is also famous for its thousands of sacred deer. During the day the deer are everywhere, but walking so early in the morning it seems like they were still asleep up in the mountains. I felt it a shame not to have met more deer during the walk so I included a few minutes from the other side of the island where the deer roamed freely, though they were a bit less bold than their cousins in the main tourist area.

I remember many of the touristy places I visited in your video; however, the short stay and my mobility at that time hadn't allowed me the beautiful sights that you were able to capture! Thank you for sharing the amazing beauty that Miyajima, Hiroshima, Japan has to offer! Loved the way you edited this video, too, very smooth and segued well into the next scene.
