People say Hiroshima, most of us immediately think of the atomic bomb dropped during World War II. It is just ingrained in our minds. [Music] The Hiroshima atomic bomb dome is kept exactly as it was after the bomb. It’s a really important symbol of the atomic bombing and was made a UNESCO World Heritage in 1996. [Music] It is still standing today because it was almost right under where the bomb exploded. Even though everything around it was destroyed, some of its walls just stayed up. Lots of people from all over the world come to see it. It really helps them understand the terrible power of the bomb and why peace is so important. It’s a special part is that it’s still broken. showing exactly what happened. The drumming and singing are acts of prayer and mourning.
