Bellevue College’s Japan Week is a six-day-long spotlight on Japanese culture, arts, and rich history.
Now in its ninth year, the event runs from Oct. 6–11 and is hosted by the college’s Japanese Culture Exchange Club. The first part of the week is reserved for Bellevue College students to attend lectures and demonstrations, while Oct. 11 opens the celebration to the public for its Matsuri (or festival) day.
This year’s Matsuri day is expected to include an onigri workshop, an exhibit about the impact of the World War II bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Kendama contests with prizes, and more.
