I said it was a big weekend. It was a big event weekend. And I was teasing you. I didn’t say it seriously. Don’t. But baby, what is it that you’re going to get to do with Pokémon here? I look at them every day. We also got cheese bits. Yum. More water. Oh, no. No, it’s not water. It basically tastes like sweat. This is picari sweat. And I would consume this after the gym with my buddy Scott Harrison. And it’s it’s like an electrolyte drink. It’s like a saline drink, but it it doesn’t actually taste good. I just want it for nostalgic reasons. Okay, I got a salad. There’s a certain dressing that I’m looking for, and I don’t actually know that I got it successfully, but we’ll find out. Salad never hurt anybody. Tia got a pizza roll. Yum. Tia also got What is this? It looks like a little cream puff pastry thing. Ooh, soft waffle. All right, work. And then a vanilla cream tart, sweet potato chips. Yummy. This was some of my favorite candy back in the day. Black Thunder chocolate almonds classic and [Music] karate. I’m excited. Look at this. Look at these foils. That makes me so happy. Look at them. Yeah, we should put on some reality TV and have a night. Oh, this has collagen in it. I got the one I wanted. This packaging has not changed from 13 years ago. It pleases me. Maybe this is why I knew I wanted this one. The pink one. 1,00 mg of collagen, 10 millig of hyaluronic acid, and 1,000 milligs of vitamin C. What else could you? I forgot the important part where I slept 12 hours. Amazing. Tasty. Baby needed breakfast in a real way. I have not had a beef curry bun in 13 years. I’m not hungry enough for this, but I’m very excited. I’ve already had 100 millig of caffeine. Tia, very grumpy. Conspiracy theory. Tap tupe. But we made it. We will be taking the train now. People who are snobby about that score are wrong. I do not think that take is going to age well. The weird uh art gatsy paper mill Gatsby fight that people had when nobody had seen anything is wild that it persisted to that level. And I’ll stand 10 toes down that that’s why that happened. Yeah, that’s probably true. And people watching this who are naysayers will be like, “No, we would have not been a fan of the score regardless.” And I would just like to say, “You’re take a you are wrong. It is an incredible score.” Starting the show with those reads clarinet question mark and like getting into the jazz, but then where’s the party and can you take me there? Like when we go to London, we need to see if they have this salad at the bills in London. It was like this magical vinegarette, arugula, apples, the chicken. We have done the last two days. It’s been a day. It’s been two days. It’s been two days. It’s been great. It’s been awesome. It really has. But it has been so warm. I am from Texas. It is so warm. It’s pretty bad. It is a lot. It’s the humid. If it was just 95, that’d be one thing. It’s like it’s 90° or 90% humidity. For those playing along, we just did the bullet train, which was a grand total of 18 minutes, but it normally takes an hour. So, that’s impressive. You could feel it just like zoom zooming. As it turns out, we still had a 23minute drive to the area of Yokohama where we are staying and enjoying Chimney Town. And then we have social activities. And theoretically, I have a meeting tonight at 10 p.m. I did last minute cancel my meetings last night. And there’s a decent likelihood I’m going to be doing the same like kind of for the rest of the week. I would be much more willing to have meetings with everyone at like 6:00 a.m. Japan standard time. So, I’m going to need to figure this all out. But more likely to be awake at that time. What I really would like to do, no, I I’m very excited to see all these people and do all this work. I’m so sorry. But what I’d really like to do is be horizontal and watch the remainder of the really awkward and uncomfortable and like truly painful Love Island US reunion. I have I have a thesis about that. My hypothesis is that when you have the reunion so far away from the actual show, first of all, we forget who these people are. Second of all, I’ve watched Love Island UK in its entirety since I watched Love Island US. Third of all, the magic of the show is that it comes out like 24 to 48 hours after the events actually occur. When you wait a week, breakups are going to happen. So, like we’re watching this reunion and two of the final four couples, one one couple had already been demised. Two of the additional of the final four are broken up since they recorded since they recorded this a week ago. So, we literally just have one remaining couple, which is Nicolandria. That’s part of the hypothesis. Second part is because there is a month and change. It’s like 6 weeks or something between the end of the show and the reunion which I understand they like some of like I can understand the argument that they’re like but we want everyone to like talk behind each other’s backs and podcasts and all this stuff or theoretically we want them to watch the series which is T. They don’t do it. They don’t. They even said on the podcast like we’re not doing that. We’re not you’re not going to know. You don’t want to see what why America thinks what the way? Probably not. Wouldn’t you rather just like live in your experience? No. No. Absolutely not. Because we got like a whole Well, we don’t know why they think we’re mean girls. If you had watched the freaking episode and the way they edited it, you would understand why everyone hates you. Girls, but evidently in the midst of the last 6 weeks, every everyone has teams now. Everyone has representation and managers and agents and PR and so no one wants to say anything or in Huda’s case legally cannot legally cannot andy Cohen being so sassy saying excuse me does Netflix know that this was the number one show of the season of the summer? I’m not allowed to speak on it. I’m so sorry. Okay, tell Netflix this was the number one streaming show of the summer. I apologize. I really am sorry. All right. My feeling is that they like they’re sanitized, but they’re not pros enough that there’s anything to actually say. They’re just awkward. They I don’t know. The show is very great like Japan very impressive stage craft and make and great for kids like the kids were riveted. Oh yeah, you know, but also I just can’t get over the merch. So they have these little cuz everyone gets so sweaty cuz it’s hot and humid. And I couldn’t not get all of the characters that I love. So babe has a collection of Disney washcloths now because one I’ll use them in my house. But one of them is a trito for Catherine. One of the first one I will show you is a treatto for C. But I I couldn’t stop. Look at this. You’re so funny. How much were these? They were 700 yen, but they were uh 20% off. So they were like they were like three bucks. Yeah. Wow. Oh, I kind of wish I’d gotten one. But to start, so Alice and Wonderland was my favorite movie growing up. And the only Alice merch that I saw was they did all these things with the oysters from Alice and Wonderland. So where they’re getting eaten and it’s like they’ve got this little and I had to have it. It’s so good. Winnie the Pooh keychain. Oh, I didn’t know you got that. That’s cute. I I think I’m going to get cuz I want to get a bee sternum tattoo and I want to get honeycomb. I think the honeycomb is the move on my leg to kind of fill out that leg tattoo. Oh, interesting. I just love And then did I get anything else? No. I got one additional treasure, but I have to locate it. Oh, here it is. A magnet for our hotel. Makes sense. Which makes sense. So, you I know. And I have an Alani one. And so, I I don’t think I have a boardwalk one, and I would like to change that. I thought you got a boardwalk one. Do I? Maybe I do. Why is this not There we go. I can just not. I couldn’t just not. They all belong in my house. So, there’s baby’s washcloth haul. We did get totes. I think this is not as grand as I had hoped. I was like I’ve envisioned it like being on the bed in the presentation, but also I have just been spoiled with a giant suite and so maybe my expectations are unreasonable. Also came with so much merch and so much merch. But to be fair, this was an expensive vacation package. We’ll I’ll explain shortly. Okay. Cute little reusable bag, honestly. So, Oh, cute. Oh, isn’t that what’s on the ceiling? That’s very cute. Has a little inside pocket as well, which you like. It’s so good. Okay, I feel good about that. And then this, we did naughty things. First of all, we’re going to go to the park as soon as I finish this, brush my teeth, and change my shorts. So, we have retro cute. We have happy entry tickets which is only 15 minutes into the park but evidently makes a world of difference. So we have this for the next 2 days. Disney Ambassador Hotel is the only one I think this is right that has happy entry as part of the vacation packages flash if you’re a hotel guest here for both parks cuz certain hotels belong to they’re like Disneyland hotels and some of them are Disney hotels and this one belongs temporarily to both. It’s going to change, but we got here in time, which is great. Retro looks like it was created in 1990 and never changed. And honestly, it’s kind of cute. Not mad. It makes me feel very comfortable knowing exactly what we’ve got. It’s true. Okay, so this package was You know what, Dou? You can show our room. It’s honestly for Japan size big and it’s comfy. Like totally fine. I do in hindsight kind of wish we’d gotten the Chip andale room. I was just like that’s not very sexy. But does anyone go to Disney to be sexy? I don’t know. You’ve definitely been talking about it. Oh, you can’t the Chip andale room. Yeah. Yeah. I I I regret my choice, but that’s okay. So, with this expensive ass vacation package, we get four park tickets. Why would we have four park tickets? There’s two of us. Two days. We have merch tickets. We have, it’s called an original goods voucher. I’m going to have to read up more on that. We have a beverage ticket for each of us, and I think it’s unlimited throughout the day. Attraction tickets, 12 of them. Park restaurant vouchers, eight of them. Hotel restaurant vouchers, two of them, and a popcorn bucket voucher. The reason that I did this is because we’re here in the high season. And I have not been here in 12 years. And I don’t know if I’m ever coming back here again. Hopefully, at least once, but I’m it at this rate, it’s like a decade plus in between visits. and I want to ride the rides that I want to ride. There were things that I didn’t even do when I was working at the parks because it was impossible to get into the rides and I was like, damn it, I have adult play money now. I mean, I have a credit card and it’s going to be fine. And so, we’re going to ride Winnie the Pooh. So, with this, you get to reserve certain rides. You get in the park early, which helps you reserve. It’s such a confusing system. All Disney parks have confusing systems, but this one you have premiere access. You have an anniversary access and you have standby access. I think that’s it. Um, so anyway, it breaks down our like itinerary. Tonight it does not say we’re going to the park, but in spite of this vacation package being a gajillion dollar. Tonight we’re doing an after5 weekn night park pass, which was only $34 each. They’re $176 a day at Disney World. That is nothing. 34 is amazing. That’s like the cost of a lightning lane. Okay. Then in our retro experience, we have all of these fabulous perforated little tickets. Now, this is an absolute nightmare for me. I can’t be trusted with any of this. So, this is Tia’s job. And Tia is actually probably going to enjoy it. And it is kind of satisfying that they’re like little physical things. I will take photos of them. I don’t know that that’s actually going to achieve much, though. So, it’s got all of our little restaurant vouchers, our attraction tickets, and our popcorn bucket voucher. And that’s that. So, I’m a little overwhelmed. I mean, look at this table. Who would not be overwhelmed? I am a I’m a Disney park expert and I am not an expert here at Tokyo Disney, but that’s okay. We’re going to have a good time. We’re going to have a fantastic time. And I do think that this Oh, I was going to tell you which rides we have on the docket. Did you already select them? Are they pre-selected? Some of them are pre-selected. So, I’ll tell you about it. Um, we’re reserved for the happy ride with Baymax tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. sharp. The enchanted tale of Beauty and the Beast was which was like kind of the reason for this entire package. Like I don’t want to overhype and I’ve never experienced it before. So, I’m really excited about this ride. Have you watched Have you watched Good. I did do Saurin as an option just because the wait is forever and they do in instead of Paris at the end they do Tokyo. So, that’s going to be fun. Peter Pan’s Neverland Adventure. Another one that’s incredibly important to me. That’s at C. Frozen also at C. Eligible attractions at Tokyo Disneyland. So, we have one that’s sort of like we could pick, which is great because I don’t do roller coasters. So, Tia will be doing some single rider action. Indiana Jones is not a roller coaster, right? That’s true. We can single ride that. That’s true. What’s the other one that was a single rider? A roller coaster. Raging Spirits. Oh, I will be doing that. We’re probably not going to get to do Toy Story Mania, so I just want to set expectations. That’s okay. Let’s not potentially fight on this. I think that sounds good. Actually, it’s going to take some restraint. Not the fighting, but the not doing Toy Story Mania, but I think it’s for the best. And look, we have a view of I tried. I tried. Did you of I showed um Oh, you can see Tower of Terror. Tower of Terror, which is really pretty here. The volcano. No, the Well, the volcano is all the way over there. I think maybe you can see it. My baby is treating me so right. Also, I’m treating me so right on this expensive ass vacation. I’m going to change. We’re going to go to the park. Let’s go. [Music] So much better than the castle. Isn’t that insane? Welcome to Disney theme. Thought I waited in the wrong line. Later I understood I wasn’t fine. I am glad you got the information that you could handle the situation. We need a standby pass to get into the Duffy store. Oh, is it just Duffy? Well, it’s like the Duffy store. So now makes more sense to me. Now we know for day after tomorrow. We have to remember we’re going to do a standby pass for Aunt Pegs so we can see Duffy Charar falling. 6:50 a.m. Ready to go to Tokyo Disneyland. [Music] In this dynamite castle, you will never be alone. This is gorgeous. [Music] Oh my god, Granny. I’m sweating. Hi. Hi. Change of plans. We ended up rope dropping beauty cuz we were going to rope drop monsters, but we have Happy Entry and that one doesn’t open early. So, we’re going to do this and then rush to Monsters afterwards. What are we doing? What am I doing in this? Oh. Oh, this is Beauty and the Beast. This is the ride I am actually most looking forward to between both parks if we’re starting with it, which is why I booked us for noon today so that our we our expectations wouldn’t be too high for the rest of the trip. But, oops. We did ride yesterday. That’s true. And honestly, I loved um Nemo yesterday. It was really, really, really fun. So, and babe did Journey. Yes. Which you would rank a one out of 10. It was cool. I don’t need to do it again. Shocking. That’s like the most favorite ride in Tokyo Disney. I just The animatronics were cool. I don’t feel like it didn’t feel I don’t know. I feel like the journey to the draw is really worth it with like pirates. I don’t think this like hot take. Yeah. I mean, it was just it was fine. I enjoy it and I don’t need to do it again. Was it a seven? I didn’t give it a number. What’s one hit out of 10? Like a six. Okay, baby has high expectations. Let’s hoping hope the rest lives up. What was What was Nemo? Oh, I love Nemo. Nemo was like an eight. I’m dead. Hot takes over here. These animatronics are unreal. Oh my god. Oh, I’m going to cry. I’m definitely going to cry. Are you going to cry? I’ve already teared up. Me, too. I cried at the arrival of each scene. Like teared up. And then at for the moment, the the like climactic moment was so I knew what was coming and I still was like, “What the?” It’s amazing. It is crazy. And then at the end of the ride, I just felt so overwhelmed that then I started tearing up at the end because I was just like so it’s unreal. The teacups are choreographed to move with the music and each individual cup like beyond just being stationary together with others on a track. It like it’s unreal. The animatoptronics unreal. The theming and design unreal. It just it’s amazing. [Music] 10 out of 10. That was fabulous. Okay, now time for Poo’s Honey Hunt. But first, your quick thoughts on Beauty and Baymax. I love Beauty. It broke my brain. I don’t know how. Is it a screen? No, it’s I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t even know that I want to know. I don’t understand. And I will short circuit about it later. Even though I’m pretty sure I’ve seen like Tik Toks about it. We’re going to go see it again at noon. It feels like a It was a show. Yeah. Baymax was super fun and cute. Oh my god. That was very fun. And it was a more fun ride than I expected. I thought it was just going to be like It was fun. Highly recommend. [Music] Wow. Wow. Look to the right. Ah, look at how cute they are. I truly cannot. It’s the be for me. They’ll have to come off for rides. Look at me. [Applause] So pretty. I love her. Absolutely did not enjoy Pinocchio. Scary as Would not ride again. Yes, diva. Yes. Snow White. Also a terrifying ride. Like what? So scary. Children’s rides in Fantasy Land. Just absolutely terrifying. They took they took that first part when Snow White runs away and gets lost in the forest. Oh man, that was a hugely successful day. Okay, so Rapunzel closed. Very sad. So now we’re at Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies, which is like the least exciting of the four new rides. We’ll cross this off and we’ve got uh premier access for so reserved times for Frozen and Peter Pan. And after this, we head to Frozen. No, Flies. After this, we head to Saurin. I am dripping sweat. I am drenched. Drenched. [Music] Look how different the Saurin theming is. This is the most elegant Saurin ever. Okay, we’ve been doing a lot of hauling ass. You have shins. What shins? Dead shins. I hurt. I sweat. I am moisture. But you were an actual river earlier. I was. I was. But now it’s time for big ban. Okay. Bye. How many out of 10? Tia, I want to talk about Tia. Did you have an emotional moment? You good? [Music] I think they liked Peter Pan. [Music] Look how cute they are. Can you move them? So, I have some thoughts about screens on rides. They kind of ruin the experience for me. Like LED screens. Yes. Okay. Tell me more. Like I don’t mind as background if things are like animating on Oh, I did. you know, but if if a foreground scene is an animated scene on a screen, like I literally like theme parks because I’m not in my phone as much. So, the Florida version of the Frozen ride is definitely not as advanced as the Japan version and those projector heads are admittedly odd in Florida. I don’t know. I’m like still marinating on these thoughts. Like, Ratatouille is not my fave. I I mean it’s my favorite IP. It’s among my favorite IPs, but I don’t love that for that reason. And like the Peter Pan ride was gorgeous. Gorgeous. And it’s like my favorite combo, but still the screens and the 3D of it all take me out a little bit. Whereas the Beauty and the Beast ride yesterday was it for me. That’s my number one. For sure. For sure. For sure. And like part of me wishes that I want like I’m glad we got to fly with Peter, but part of me wishes some of it could have been more. You like to fly in the Peter the old school Peter pan. I do. I like practical. I like theater. Well, I don’t know if my reaction can say anything other than that one was my favorite. I’m sorry. No, don’t apologize. I’m so glad it’s your favorite and I would love to write it again, especially now that I know like what it is. Yeah, but Beauty was so good. I don’t think that Peter Pan was lazy and I I only thought parts of Frozen were lazy and parts were incredible. So, I don’t know. I just don’t want an over reliance on screens. I am that grandma. Okay, Tia, what did you think of the show? It was so fun. I thought it was adorable. I love the um there’s like a dark black light scene element. Yes, I love those. We used to work on a um Halloween show in Salt Lake where it was like a lot of that and it was so happy. Like costumes with LED lights that timed to the music with the set which was so fun. The costumes were great. It’s very fun seeing a show only a month after it opened here at the park. So we definitely saw opening company and it they were like fresh, you know, and the costumes were great. So good. And we were sitting next to a little who was just like my god best wife. She was so cute. Oh my god. We got live vocals. And not only did we get live vocals, we got live Japanese vocals. And it made me so happy. So happy. I just want that in all of the shows. I don’t need it to be like the guy Jean coming over being the singing talent. Like give us Japanese singers. I just want live music. That’s all. And he was so good. and he sang Remember Me and played the guitar and it was so lovely. And then he danced his face off. That guy so talented. [Music] Oh, hey. It’s night time. Um, it actually it happens quite early here. If we haven’t already told you, 5:30 p.m. rolls around and it’s like night night everybody. Tia is doing Single Rider on Raging Spirits as their last ride. We did Sinbad which was wild and fabulous. I got my very last merch and um I’m doing a quick stroll through Fantasy Springs before picking them up and we’re going to watch the night show. I’m going to show you Elsa’s castle. Arendelle at night is so pretty. And look, [Music] this theming is Oh, it’s not really focusing, but it’s really, really, really beautiful. In spite of the fact that it has been Moshi Moshi and Atsui, we have had the very best time. It has been awesome. I’m so so thankful. Tia, if you’re watching the vlog, thank you. It’s been nonsense. Yeah, he got it. Got him again. We’re so sad to leave. We’re so sad. Look at him. Look, we match. Duffy is perfect. Obviously, this was my vacation package gift. It’s a bag. So practical. I also got this shirt for a ride that I personally didn’t even love. I liked it a lot, though. Also, just to be clear, there’s two Peter Pan rides. Have I already said this in this thing? I probably have. I just need people to understand this, but this is not Peter Pan’s flight. It’s a very soft, very nice shirt, and I’m excited about it. And it’s embroidered, which we love. And it has Nana on the back, who I’ve recently decided is my favorite. Are you so sad? I’m so sad. Let’s go back. Thanks for joining this magical Japan trip.
