[Mount Yahiko] A one-day drive around Niigata by rental car [Teradomari]
Hello! Today I’m using “Dokokani Byu–n!” to come to Niigata. I’m planning to rent a car and enjoy a day of sightseeing in Niigata. Let’s start at Niigata Station. My”Dokokani Byu–n!” route to Niigata was decided on, and I arrived on the 9:12 AM departure from Tokyo, the 311. Please check out the first video from the link in the description. It’s hot today, so don’t forget to stay hydrated. 🙏Please subscribe to my channel🙏 The first place we visited was Yahiko Shrine. Yahiko Shrine is a representative power spot in Niigata Prefecture. It is located about 50 minutes by car from Niigata Station. The deity Amenokagoyama no Mikoto, revered as the founding god of the development of Echigo, is enshrined here. It’s said to grant blessings such as matchmaking, marital harmony, industrial promotion in fishing and agriculture, recovery from adversity, and longevity. The long line of worshippers shows how popular the shrine is. By the way, the proper way to worship is not “two bows, two claps, one bow,” but “two bows, four claps, one bow.” Here’s an introduction to the rental car. Although it is a light car, it is nimble to drive and has excellent fuel economy. After a 20-minute drive up the Yahiko Mountain Skyline, we arrived at the summit. If you look closely at the sea, you can see Sado Island faintly. You can enjoy an even more spectacular view of Mt. Yahiko by climbing the Panorama Tower. By the way, you can use the climbing car to get to the observation deck and restaurant. If you buy a set ticket, the Panorama Tower and climbing car cost 700 yen. “Thank you for waiting. We will now guide you to the exhilarating panoramic view at an elevation of 600 meters. Please refrain from smoking on board. This panoramic tower, also known as the Space Tower, was first developed in Switzerland and is the first of its kind in Japan on the Sea of Japan side. The tower is 100 meters high, and a two-story, 52-passenger cabin slowly rotates around it, ascending and descending every eight minutes.” “Ladies and gentlemen, we have reached the top of the tower. The magnificent view of the ocean, mountains, and plains from here is truly breathtaking. Below you can see the blue waters of the Sea of Japan, and in the distance, 39Km across the distant waves, Okesa’s Sado Iland. At the mouth of the Shinano River, which irrigates the Echigo Plain, you can see Niigata City, the largest city on the Sea of Japan side and the prefectural capital .” This is what the panoramic tower looks like from the climbing car. Next, we arrive at the so-called “Ameyoko Fish Market.” Located 30 minutes by car from Mt. Yahiko, along National Route 402 facing the Sea of Japan, this seafood market offers a wide variety of fresh seafood caught in the Sea of Japan. You can purchase fresh fish, crab, squid, and scallops at low prices. It’s a lively place, bustling with tourists. I’m hungry, so I’ll have lunch on the second floor. Well, which one should I choose? A seafood bowl for ¥2,200. It’s fantastic! Thank you for the meal. I bought some souvenirs, so I’m heading to my next destination. Traveling south on the Seaside Line, overlooking the Sea of Japan, I arrive at Omigawa Station, the station closest to the ocean in Japan. Omigawa Station is a station on the Shinetsu Main Line in Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture. The view of the sun setting over the Sea of Japan is said to be the most beautiful in Japan. It’s also a stop on the tourist train “Koshino ShuKura.” A train bound for Naoetsu has arrived. It’s about time to head back to Niigata Station, but before that, I’ll soak in the hot springs. The admission fee and towel set is 500 yen. Thank you! J Net Rent-a-Car! The final destination is inside Niigata Station. The final destination is Ponshukan. This facility offers sake tastings featuring all breweries in Niigata. To taste, you purchase a special coin for 500 yen, select your favorite local sake from the sake tasting machine, and sample up to five glasses. There is also a corner where you can try special brands such as high-end Daiginjo. It’s sad to leave, but it’s time to go home. I’ll be taking the 8:30 PM Toki 344 bound for Tokyo to go home. Thank you for watching. See you again.
