Taylor Fritz reached his third ATP Tour final of the season with a straight sets victory over US compatriot Jenson Brooksby at the Japan Open on Monday (29 September).

Second-seeded Fritz paraded to the final in Tokyo on Tuesday with a 6-4, 6-3 win and will wait for either top-ranked Carlos Alcaraz or Casper Ruud with his third title of 2025 on the line.

Fritz fired 13 aces and won 85 per cent of his first serve points against Brooksby, who the world No. 5 beat for the third time this year.

The match swung in Fritz’s favour when he broke Brooksby at 5-4 to win the first set.

Fritz broke him for a second time 2-1 in the second and from there was in the driver’s seat, acing his first match point.
