Wales Veterans Football Association heading to Japan for World Cup

Welsh Sports Association (WSA) member, Wales Veterans Football Association (WVFA) are heading to Tokyo for the O70 and O75 World Cup.

The organisation is sending a squad from each age category to the Olympic Stadium in the Japanese capital to face teams from Japan, USA, Australia, Taiwan, Germany and England for the O70 and O75 World Cup 2025.

The 2024 tournament was hosted by the WVFA in Cardiff, and a hugely successful event concluded with Wales’ O70s lifting the World Cup trophy after defeating Denmark, Australia, Canada, England and the USA.

Unfortunately, the 075s lost agonisingly to England on penalties in their respective World Cup final.

This year, the O75s are planning to go one step further and have been working hard under the guidance of managers Tim Bowker and Cardiff City legend Jimmy Mullins. Meanwhile, the O70s will be trying to retain the trophy!

We wish them the best of luck!
