In photos shared by @CotE_0904 on X, we can see that the Mount Prometheus designation has been removed from the icon’s description on the above map, which is a permanent sign installed in the Mysterious Island area.

The box now describes Mount Prometheus without actually specifying its name at the top. This change applies to both the English and Japanese language descriptions. We do not know why the name has been removed, but all other blocks with location descriptions on the map have a named heading to match their content.

While the above image is a sign found in a different section of Mysterious Island, it shows how the name of Mount Prometheus used to appear in the text box before it was removed.
As also noted by @CotE_0904, this is not the first name change regarding Mount Prometheus signage. As shown above, the name of Mount Prometheus was changed on another posted map during a short refurbishment period from November 14, 2024, to December 13, 2024. This change swapped the text “A view of Mt. Prometheus in eruption” to “A view of the volcano erupting.”
The user notes in the comments that one possible reason for the changes could be an issue regarding the rights to use the name “Mount Prometheus,” though this has not been confirmed.
Mount Prometheus
Mount Prometheus is the icon of Mysterious Island at Tokyo DisneySea. It is 189 feet tall and features over 750,000 feet of rockwork. The icon smokes and erupts in spectacular fashion throughout the day, adding a spectacle for guests in the park or with theme park views at Hotel MiraCosta.
Tokyo DisneySea is set to celebrate its 25th anniversary, which will begin next year, with a Sparkling Jubilee. There will be an anniversary celebration with the Disney friends in their Jubilee Blue outfits at Mediterranean Harbor. This will happen during the event period 1 – 3 times daily and will run for about 20 minutes.
