Rakuten Yuki Hayashi pitcher made his first appearance in the first team. In the 5th inning, he went up from 2nd base with 2 outs and 2nd base, and advanced runner to third base with a wild pitch, but when he closer a pinch with a struck out swing, he went up to mound in the following 6th inning and 2 Hit by Pitch 2 strike out. He underwent surgery on his left elbow in November 2011. He has been working hard on his rehabilitation together with pitcher Naoto Nishiguchi Katsutoshi Tai and pitcher Yasu, who were also aiming to return from elbow surgery. Nishiguchi and Yasu are currently on the first-team bench. “Rehabilitation took a long time and was quite difficult, but Nishiguchi and Yasu were with me at the time. I’m really happy that the three of us are now on the first team,” he said with a smile. “I want to work hard so that the three of us can perform well again,” he declared with confidence.
