JAPANESE ARCHITECTURE VLOG PART 2
welcome to the Shinkansen this is the Nozomi Super Express bound for Shin Osaka we are approaching nagoya konnichiwa we are now here in Osaka and today it’s already 11:30 and we are going to Kyoto today so we didn’t went early this is very new to me traveling not the earliest but we’re going there until sunset so they said that there’s also less people maybe 4 or 5 PM today so we’re still gonna enjoy Kyoto and really now in the travelling phase of my life where it’s nice to be chill like you don’t have to see a lot of things of the historical places the temples first thing in the morning or you don’t have to complete all the temples but you just have to enjoy the moment like enjoy the pace of Japan and see the architectural details since it was already after lunch instead of going to Kyoto we decided to change our plans and go to Nara instead because Nara is more compact and the sites are closely within each other so Nara will be perfect for a half a day trip when arriving to Nara I was really surprised on how beautiful it was the deers which I thought was a bit gimmicky at first but they really made the place so unique there are deers going especially to the Todaiji Temple the deers were so cute and especially since I grew up watching Bambi so deers really hold special place in my heart unfortunately since we were at the afternoon feeding times of the deer is already done but we saw a lot of kids who had cookies feed those deers and it was really fun to look at the wood architecture of the todaiji is really very impressive and as you enter the todaiji you enter through the Nan Diamond Gate which is a large gate and watched over by two wooden statues how did they create this big sculpture of a Buddha the Big Buddha Hall or the main hall of the todaiji is one of the largest wooden buildings in the world although it was reconstructed because collapsed because of its weight but it still is so massive it’s so beautiful to look at the colours are pretty the wooden architecture is nice the dominant roof is beautiful and it houses a 15 meter tall seated Buddha which is really impressive made of bronze for me one of the most distinct and unique element of the Great Buddha Hall is the shibi this one a decorative element at both ends of the main roof it serves as decoration and amulet which is used sometimes in architecture to protect the building from evil spirits just like gargoyles and other decorative elements that is placed in roofs in religious buildings it’s very striking because of its shiny colour and also reminds me of a deer Antlers which are also unique here at Nara there’s a bit of comparison that it looks like a deer Antlers I really love the experience here it was so beautiful and I would really recommend that you visit Nara as part of your trip here in Osaka Kansai region Ohayo gozaimas yesterday instead of going to Kyoto we just went to Nara because Nara is a bit smaller since it was already lunchtime when we went out but now it’s 10 so we’re gonna try to go to Kyoto to see the sites in Kyoto and we’re gonna spend there in the whole afternoon Osaka cold especially at night is so cold and it’s April it’s spring didn’t expect this to be this cold but and this is also my fit for today it’s long trench coat brown pants and my rubber shoes so yeah let’s go Konnichiwa Today is the opening of the World Expo in Osaka and we are going there we have tickets to enter at 11:00am and we can also enter some pavilions which we have won through the lottery which are Netherlands and UAE and we’re gonna visit whole day there let’s go this is going to the expo hey that’s the Grand Ring right there welcome to Expo 2025 in Osaka Japan Konichiwa from the World Expo site here in Osaka today is the opening day blockbuster so many people here the weather is not so nice it’s a bit raining but the vibe is very nice here and and World Expo are very important it happens only every five years and the last Expo was in Dubai in 2020 and now it’s 2025 and we are here at Osaka and as an architect this is a very exciting exhibition because here we will see architectural pavilions from different countries all over the world and we are also gonna see the Philippine Pavilion so we’re gonna see the advancement in technology in architecture in design in sustainability a lot of things that other countries or countries around the world wants to show the world there are very plenty of architectural pieces that came from the World Expo even the Paris Eiffel Tower was the entrance to the Expo and it’s now one of the most iconic structures in the world here in Osaka we have the Grand Ring the biggest wooden structure in the world so you can go around and see the whole Expo site just by going up there but we haven’t seen it we are gonna go up there we are staying here the whole day and we still gonna go here until tomorrow to the day two of expo because the expo is gonna last for six whole months this 2025 from April and six months it’s really pretty here and I hope the sun will come up but if not still a beautiful vibe here it’s very crowded here in the opening day of the World Expo 2025 but I think if you wanna bet on a place where people can gather there’s organization people are polite there’s no chaos and I think that’s a safe bet would be here in Japan to see a lot of people from all over the world gather here the World Expo I think it’s best to see it here in Japan Konnichiwa we are now here at the first Pavilion that we can enter this is the Netherlands Pavilion so we’re gonna go inside see the architecture of the Dutch let’s go that’s the famous Netherlands sphere look at those details on the Netherlands pavilion and we have here the sun represents the energy ありがとうございます大変お世話にな りました thank you for
