Many big reveals were made during Tokyo Game Show 2025 this week, including Microsoft’s “Forza Horizon 6” announcement. From Xbox’s Playground Games, the new “Forza” game will be set in Japan and is slated to release in 2026.

Per the developer, “As one of the most requested locations destinations for the open-world driving series, players will get to discover a scenic, breathtaking, and culturally authentic Japan as they aim to become a Legend at the Horizon Festival.”

While “Forza Horizon 6” will launch first on Xbox Series X and S consoles and PC — and be included with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass at launch — Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios are in talks to bring the game to PlayStation 5 post-launch.

Soon after the “Forza Horizon 6” announcement was made, Xbox also revealed the pricing for its upcoming handheld consoles: ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X.

NEWLY ANNOUNCED GAMES

HoYoverse announced “Petit Planet,” a cosmic game that marks the company’s first entry into the life-sim genre.

Per HoYoverse, “As a life sim, Petit Planet invites players to embark on a journey fueled by idyllic yet adventurous lifestyles, unique neighbors and surprising wonders. Here, players are entrusted to nurture a planet of their own and gradually form a galaxy by connecting with different planets scattered across the starry sky.”

NEWLY RELEASED GAMES

Konami launched “Silent Hill f” Thursday across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Steam, Epic Games and Microsoft Windows.

Per the game publisher, “Set in 1960s Japan, ‘Silent Hill f’ offers a “beautiful yet horrifying” narrative by Ryukishi07, brought to life with creature designs by kera, with music by legendary Akira Yamaoka and Kensuke Inage. Players follow high school student Shimizu Hinako through the eerie, fog-covered town of Ebisugaoka, where disturbing transformations and haunting memories unfold.”

“Hades II” launched Thursday from Supergiant Games.

Per the game’s description: “Playing as Melinoë, Princess of the Dead, you can reveal the mysteries of the Arcana Altar, tame witchy familiars, gather reagents using Tools of the Unseen, and infuse your legendary weapons of Night with ancient Magick to ensure that none stand in your way. Become stronger still with powerful Boons from more than a dozen Olympian gods and a myriad of ways to build your abilities!”

After launching in early access in May 2024, the game is now available via Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Steam and the Epic Games Store.

“Out of Time” released Thursday, marking the first 3D multiplayer roguelike from Manticore Games.

Per its description, “In ‘Out of Time,’ The Shattering has ripped past, present, and future into one chaotic battlefield. Survivors from all eras gather in Infinitopia, the last bastion of civilization, venturing into corrupted regions in fast-paced solo or co-op runs to reclaim reality. You’ll collect skill points, gear, and buffs that reshape every run. With over 190 million gear combinations, your build choices matter as much as your reflexes.”

TRAILERS/NEW FOOTAGE

Warner Bros. unveiled a behind-the-scenes video featuring James Gunn and more DC execs breaking down the creative process behind the upcoming “Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight” video game.

Developed by TT Games, “Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight” invites players to embark on an epic journey to become the hero of Gotham City from origin to legend.

The game is scheduled to release in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

NetEase Games and Naked Rain released the full gameplay demo video from Tokyo Game Show for “Ananta” a free-to-play RPG set in the vast open world of Nova City. The game “invites players to immerse themselves in a vibrant, anime-style world where the unexpected is the norm and having fun is the ultimate goal.”

RELEASE DATES

“Winter Burrow,” Noodlecake’s cozy woodland survival game about a big-city mouse returning home to fix up their childhood burrow, finally got a release date this week during Xbox Tokyo Game Show’s broadcast. The game is coming to Steam, Game Pass, Xbox, and Switch on Nov. 12.

GAME UPDATES/DLC

IO Interactive revealed it has added Bruce Lee as the latest “Elusive Target” character in a new update for “Hitman World of Assassination.”

Known as “The Infiltrator,” IO Interactive says “the legendary martial artist Bruce Lee will, however, not be a target for Agent 47, but a key ally in his latest mission.”
