Daffodil Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Toyota Shin-Osaka Inc. of Japan to create overseas education and employment opportunities for Bangladeshi youth in the global automobile industry on Tuesday.

Mohammad Nuruzzaman, chief executive officer of Daffodil Group, and Yukio Kubo, president of TSSH, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at Daffodil’s corporate office in Dhaka, said a press release.

Under the agreement, Daffodil Group will prepare and recommend students from its universities, polytechnics, and institutes for enrolment in the TOYOTA Automotive Engineering College of Kobe, a two-year technical training programme specialising in automobile technology.

Toyota Shin-Osaka will support and recommend these students for admission to Toyota Kobe and other related institutes, and assist them in pursuing employment in Japan’s automotive sector upon successful completion of their studies, in compliance with Japanese regulations.

The partnership will focus on Japanese language and technical skill development to meet admission and workplace requirements.

Senior executives from both organizations were present at the ceremony.
