Braden Flinn and Guam High scored twice, but the team with the Pacific-record 84-game winning streak proved to be too much in the Panthers’ season opener.
Flinn returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown and threw a 70-yard catch-and-run screen pass to Christian Polite in a losing cause, as Father Duenas Memorial extended its win string by downing the Panthers 56-16 Friday at George Washington High School.
“This being our first game and this being their third game, they had the edge on us,” said Panthers longtime assistant coach Greg Jacobs. The Panthers had to forfeit their first game of the season due to equipment issues.
