A café and boutique by “agnès b.”, a popular brand from Paris, France, located in Hanamikoji, Gion. The interior of the store, a machiya (townhouse) that is typical of stores located in Gion, is a perfect fusion of French and Japanese culture. Visitors can enjoy not only the café, exhibitions, and sales, but also the space itself, including artwork that changes with the seasons.
Gion in Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, has become a special place for the brand founder, Agnès Troublé, ever since he visited Kyoto. Passing through the curtain that blends in with the streets of Gion, the “agnès b.×Kyoto” space unfolds.
The first floor is a café, with original items lined up at the entrance, which can be enjoyed just by looking at them. The store on the second floor features a selection of iconic “agnès b.” products, including many vintage items that are exclusive to this store.

At the café, original cups and saucers collaborated by “1616 / arita japan” and “agnès b.”, for which designer Teruhiro Yanagihara serves as creative director, are on display and for sale. On the inside of the cups and saucers are handwritten messages by agnès b. himself, and it is fun to choose your favorite motif or message.
Three morning options are offered: the Waffle Special Plate, Croque Monsieur Set, and French Toast. The popular Waffle Special Plate is an almond and rye waffle with a hint of orange peel, served with caramelized and roasted bacon, fresh vegetables, and scrambled eggs. Coffee & fresh juice are included in this luxurious dish. Enjoy the elegance of an authentic Parisian morning with a view of the Kyoto-like courtyard.
