Japanese pop group Perfume has announced that it will suspend its activities from next year.
The all-female trio said on its official website on Sunday that they will put Perfume “into cold sleep” starting in 2026 to capture this moment when the members can proudly say that they are “shining.”
Perfume did not say how long the period of suspension will last.
The group was formed in Hiroshima in 1999.
Their electro-pop hits include “Polyrhythm” and “Laser Beam.” Perfume performed in NHK’s annual year-end song festival for 16 consecutive years.
The members say they want to “come back more powerful than ever,” and hope their fans will continue to support them warmly until the day they can meet again.
