오키나와 여행 숙소, 추천 두 곳의 전혀 다른 매력 공개
I spent a day at a home in a neighborhood in Okinawa, Japan. It wasn’t a hotel or a guesthouse, but rather an accommodation like this. It was a place brimming with local charm and a sense of stepping into everyday Japanese life. And then there was another accommodation with a completely different charm from typical local accommodations, a truly affordable option. Let’s explore both of these places together. My first night in Okinawa was spent at a place brimming with the feeling of stepping into everyday Japanese life : Nago’s Private House. This detached house is nestled in the heart of a quiet village in the northern part of Okinawa. Popular northern attractions like Pineapple and a theme park are nearby, making it conveniently located for car travel. But what makes this place so special is its uniqueness. It offers a true experience of Japanese daily life and a traditional home atmosphere, something you won’t find at a resort . From the moment I stepped foot in the front door, I felt as if I had been invited into a friend’s home. The clean, tidy space and minimal yet warm interior created a relaxing atmosphere. Inside, there’s even a traditional tatami room, making it perfect for families with children . As we sat around the floor, spread out our Shinhan Ibu ( Korean traditional clothes) and chatted, it suddenly felt like a normal day in Japan, not a family vacation. The small, separate bedroom also had a cozy bed, making it comfortable for those unfamiliar with tatami mats . The kitchen, while small, was well-equipped, making it convenient for simple cooking and preparing meals. I bought some meat from a nearby supermarket for dinner and grilled it myself. For that moment, I felt like I was truly experiencing the everyday life of a local. The soft lights of neighboring houses filtered through the window, and the sound of sizzling meat emanated from inside. The scenery felt small but precious. In the morning, I had a simple meal from the supermarket, and I felt the peace of having a meal prepared by myself during my trip. The accommodations were kept clean and tidy throughout, which was a plus. I particularly remember the separate bathroom and shower, which was convenient and clean. Basic amenities like towels and toiletries were also well-stocked, making for a comfortable stay. A few things I found disappointing were the lack of tongs for grilling meat, which was a bit inconvenient, and I ended up struggling to find the knife. When I arrived late in the evening, the area around the accommodation was quite dark, and since I’m not used to navigating the alleyways, it took me a while to find the accommodation. This accommodation wasn’t just a place to sleep; it felt like I was truly immersed in a Japanese family’s life . I was able to experience authentic local life, something you can’t easily experience at a resort . Another great value accommodation I found in northern Okinawa : Ocean Front Yamakawa, a spacious and comfortable space perfect for a family trip. The location is great, and the facilities are clean, so I’d love to visit again on my next trip to Okinawa . This accommodation is located right next to the Churaumi Aquarium in northern Okinawa. It’s only a three-minute drive, so we ‘ve been there twice. It saved us time and made our trip much easier. It felt more like renting a spacious and comfortable apartment than a hotel room. It had two bedrooms, a spacious living room, and a well-equipped kitchen . The veranda terrace was great, and the hammock was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the ocean breeze. There was plenty of space for a family stay, so even with a lot of luggage unpacked, it didn’t feel cramped at all. I was also quite impressed with the cleanliness, with separate bathrooms and showers. The bathtub was also convenient for washing the kids. Above all, the ocean view from the window was truly breathtaking. The ocean was right in front, so when I opened the window, the gentle ocean breeze drifted in. Waking up to the view of the bar was a wonderful way to start the day, and in the evening, watching the sunset completely quenched my thirst for travel. Considering the size and location of the property, the value was very satisfactory. We paid about 390,000 won for two nights, and thanks to the extended stay discount, our daily stay was just over 190,000 won. Each room had its own parking space, which made renting and using the car a breeze. The kitchen was well-stocked, making it easy to bring groceries from the nearby supermarket and cook meals. However, the self-service check-in process was a bit complicated, requiring a code at the entrance, which was a bit confusing at first. I think it would be helpful to carefully read the information email in advance . While there were some minor inconveniences, the proximity to the Churaumi Aquarium and the beach, the spacious and comfortable space, and the stunning ocean view made this accommodation a memorable one. During this trip, experiencing both the warm atmosphere of a Japanese home and the value-for-money ocean view accommodations enriched my experience. For days when I wanted to create special memories, I chose Local House. For those seeking a relaxing retreat, I chose Ocean and Front Yamakawa . Both accommodations truly showcased the charm of living in a travel destination . That’s all for today’s video. Subscribe to receive more travel tips.
