Tokyo 2025: Jamaican women cruise into 4x400m final

Jamaica’s women qualified for the final of the 4x400m relays after winning their semi-final race in a smart 3:22.77 on the second to last day of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday.

The team of Dejanae Oakley, Stacey Ann Williams, Roneisha McGregor and Nickisha Pryce had won their semi-finals in what was a world leading time, only for the USA to run faster, 3:22.53, in the second semi-final.

Jamaica have medalled in the last three editions of the women’s 4x400m relays, silver in Eugene, Oregon in 2022 and Budapest, Hungary in 2023 and bronze in Doha, Qatar in 2019.
